Creating real-time social web app for all these metephysical..need everyone help

Greetings,


Although I'm a new user to this forum, I have been coming here consuming content for the last 5 years(19 years old now). I always been intrigued by metaphysics, specifically the OBE state. Having had a profound experience myself at a young age, I felt compelled to continue my journey of discovery around this field. Surprisingly, I have been quite afraid to try to re-experience this wonderful state, quite an oxymoron I know, lol.  I just began mediating to start doing basic energy work, and through my studies I have learned in order to experience the more pleasurable other worldly realms, one must have a high vibration.  So, to start my journey to the unknown I have decided to begin start a life of self-service(since we all know this is the best route to relieving past karma, as well as rising one's vibration).

Due to my skill set(I'm a programmer), I decided to start a non-profit, the organization mission will be to increase the dissemination of all information pertaining to metphysics(astral projection, ufo sightings, etc), so everyone can post and indulge in this type of data to re-insure themselves they are not crazy, to connect with other with similar experiences, and most importantly to disambiguate the fear relating to these phenomena(we all know fear is the most dangerous emotion in the universe lol).  So, once I hack out the initial version of the web app, I want the future product iteration to be community driven(user recommend/vote to prioritize conceptualize features, and help implement them as well).

So, this is my current situation. I took a year of college to focus on the current tech startup I'm actively developing(super awesome social shopping app for the real world), and I also practice the uberman sleep schedule(I have 22 hours of waking life, I know it's super weird, but I'm so much more productive). I literally work 15-17 hours everyday on my current startup(gaining insight on my market, talking to retailers, and actually coding). However, I still have an extra 35 hours every week. So I will use that time to develop the product(I don't have a life right now anyways lol). Right now, I just have a basic idea of the type of functionality the app needs -> real-time stream of users social graph content, group created around specific topics(have the ability to upload videos and pics for the group as well), should I implement facebook connect or go with the anonymous avatar route? What other type of features do you guys think I should implement? Also, although this will be non-profit, it will still need to generate revenue to cover overhead, and all remaining profits will be used to further grow the app community(new amazon ec2 instances, and yes advertising on facebook and google lol). So how could I monetize the service as well for those purposes? Side note, to the developers reading this, I will be using git and github for code versioning and storage, so you  I will decided which code patches to push to live servers.

Please everyone, leave comments and feedback. I believe this is our civic duty to the world. If we all put enough effort into building and scaling this tool we can start changing society views and opinions on these matters, and more importantly, allow those who are confuse about what happening to them, to gain insights.
