Title: Space Whales?
Post by: Shawn McCaffrey on February 21, 2003, 07:51:22
I am 99% sure that is some sort of joke.  I mean Space Whales.  I think the way it is capitolized it might just be publicity for some kids BAND!  Sure you should research it if you are interested, but, look at the kids name, Andy Christ? Anti-Christ? Joke?...

Thanks for your help. I just had to know if that was really a joke or not. I can never be sure with that website. I mean, if you scroll down the page you find somebody (i don't know if it's the same dude) talking about coming to a realisation on Medusa or something. Plus it's hard to just look passed the band's interest in the occult.
Anyway, i'll keep my eyes open just in case it's for real.

Star Trek IV, The Voyage Home. It was very funny. It is about an alien computer who talks with people around the galaxy, including the whales on our planet. When the whales became extinct (before Kirk's time) it came to see what the problem was. Finding no intelligent life on our planet, it decided to kill off the parasites (humans) and wait for evolution to try again. Kirk and friends take the Klingon ship they borrowed in the third movie back in time to retrieve whales from earth's past. Their hope is that the whales will tell the computer thing to go away. Obviously it worked because movies have rules such as Kirk always wins.

Anyone with the technology to travel between stars physically is going to be able to crush us all like bugs under a tank. As to why it would be worth the effort, I do not know.

Oh man!  Those damned space whales are back!  I can just imagine them slowly descending towards Earth...it's gonna be terrifying.  If they can take out a T-Rex then we are in BIG trouble.

I believe Tool, although interested in the occult, do enjoy playing with their fans a little. I think they assume that most people are going to be able to sense the rediculousness in some of their postings. I think the only reason they put that particular post up on the site was because it was funny to them that someone actually sent that email.

I was on the Tool (music band) website today and i read the following...

93 Bro. Blair, I am writing to warn you of the danger imminent to mankind with the coming of the Space Whales. This War in Iraq must be stopped. We need to stop pointing our weapons at each other and come together by pointing our weapons out into space. The Space Whales came once billions of years ago and ate the dinosaurs. Now they're coming back and Humanity is on the menu. Please use your power to spread this word far and wide. Rev. Andy Christ.

So that explains the "Phoenix lights" on March 13, 1997 that were seen by hundreds of people in Arizona, as well as other enormous black triangles seen all around the world as of late, including...

Now, i've searched for the term "Space Whales" on Google and found nothing (although i probably didn't look very hard) and i've searched on these forums and i found no results. Given the nature of the band (and whoever writes these news entries), i don't see this as being a joke. If it is then oh well.
Does anybody here know anything about these supposed Space Whales?

Thanks!
