I havent met mine yet, but from what I have heard. If you AstralProject then just start yelling for one, he/she will come.
I have also asked but not many of the more expierenced people read these because they have already helped alot of others on the subject, so its kind of hard to find alot of help in this particular area.

If you project with the intent of meeting your spirit guides, he/she/it/they will come. The power of a solemn prayer for this to happen prior to projecting is not to be underestimated.
Be sure to specify YOUR spirit guides, and not just any spirit guides.
When the time is right they will come to you wether you expect it or not.
Sometimes they are not what you expect, however, so be prepared.

Areies....this isn't necessarily true. I have had numerous projections where I did that very thing you describe, and no one ever came.
From my experience, I've come to learn that these guides will only make themselves known at a time when they see fit. Or, perhaps we as astral travellers need to reach a level of vibrational attunement before we can decipher where they are. After all, it is said that our guides are with us most (if not all) of the time, but perhaps we just need to filter our vision a certain way before we can 'see' them.
I have projected afew times bu havent been able to fully remember it. I suppose your right about the vibration thing... never thought of it that way befor.

ive tried the calling method too and sometimes it worked sometimes it didnt. the times it did work was when i was when i asked for help with something. when i just called for her for calling sake just to see if she would answer she never would come. but as soon as i added some purpose to her presance whe would come. so if you do call perhaps try to ask for something specific maybe like: "guide, please show yourself to me, it is very important to me that i verify your existance face to face." and of course it must be an honset call, if you say that it is important to see her/him face to face and it really is just to satisfy your ego so you can say to others "HA! i met my guide last night and you cant do that, losers!" she probably wont come.
Well I heard that stating your intent befor hand helps alot, so it is a possibility that they only come when they actually have a purpose.

There are many different kinds of guides, some are permananent and some temporary it all depends on your life at the time. considering spirit guides pertaining to animals all have different significance they can very from time to time. I have found my spirit guides range from the raven to wolf and panther. An exercise i did was to close my eyes and meditate however you wish, anything to get you relaxed/ Picture an atmosphere, the first thing that comes to mind like the ea or the sky, forest etc. Begin feeling where you are, using all your senses. Begin to scan the area try and remember key things that may tell you where you are and if you can look down, it may indicate which animal you are by what you can see below like paws or talons, etc.

Oh and if you are speaking of spirit guides in general, you may wish to call out for them. If this does not work then perhaps it is not time as other people have said they have a funny way of showing up when the time is right but as bfore with the animals some deep meditation and concentration on the subject may bring you an answer. just keeep it up see if anything shows.

Okay I got some questions for you 'guide seeing' gangstas out there. I have tried finding my guides since I read James Van praaghs books, and even more since I been projecting. But let me tell you my little experience with me 'asking' for my guides 'with purpose' like the example someone stated above.
I will be doing relaxation and trance work to try to project. But at the same time I'll be asking for my guides. Sometimes while I'm doing this, I am looking through the blackness of my eyelids. I would see some patterns, then I would do some focud, the patterns would turn into a outline of something, then I think maybe its my 'guides' trying to show themselves to me through my closed eyelids or something. So i ask 'it' to make themselves 'more clearer please'.
Alsudden it got cleared and it litterally, looked like a elvish looking charcter from lord of the rings with his face to the side, and talk, i swear to god! he was talking and making facial expressions! He would say something (and it looks like clips from a old 1910-1920 films) and then make a smile. real strange! I have had that happen a few times! but always the same face when i ask for the guides, so if i project, and then do it, will he appear in his fullest, or was it a guide at all? when i get this next time what should I ask? can this 'guide' or thing help 'pull' me out of my body? lol you know, tell me anything!
Thats cool, Iv never heard of anyone meeting there spirit guide befor actually projecting, but anything is possible. I would keep trying it, and once you project ask again. I think that yes, once you project he will manifest fully, but then again youl never know untill ya try..

Well to answer your question aries it is sort of like a meditation that takes you into a trance like state, to penetrate that part of e mind if you will. it allows you to visualize and hopefully come up with the answer your looking for, but you can do it many times and the results should in fact increase.

The one that I am intimate with has been with me since I was a child. He found me when My parents were exploring ancient ruins. I also have dead loved ones who watch over me and my family.

You get a spirit guide the day you were born. there are permanent guides , and temporary guides.
Some temporary guides come to you in some point of your life, but there is always one thats by you form birth until the end.

Okay this post is both going towards a non-educational thread and non-interesting. And it is obvious you see your permenant guides more often. LEts have someone try to explain 'how' they see there guides maybe for people can actually read this thread and go 'Awesome!!" instead of reading how they know there guides through this earthworm that popped up after a rainstorm. lol
Discovering that your guide can actually telepathically talk to you is quite amazing, although very hard at first. I remember back in the day when the prophecy section was still alive and when Pendulums were quite the fad (lol i hesistate to type that). I tried it out, and the results were surprisingly good. The pendulum, which is shown how to use in the prophecy section, is a good beginner's divination tool, however there's great debate to whom you are speaking to via the pendulum.
Anyway, I was attuned to talking to my guide until I started losing faith in what i was hearing an ended up completely stopping. Presently i've decided to take it back up and start things going again with my guide.
If you want to try to speak with your guide, i personally recommend trying out a pendulum. Worked well for me [:D]

It took a crisis situation at age 5 for me to know I had a spirit guide/protector. My mom was having an affair with some guy in Woodland Hills California. She left my sister and I with the Nanny of the guys son. The Nanny was obcessed with the guy and jealous that the man was with my mom. She threw me in the deep end of the pool claiming that I had let the toys float to the other end of the pool. She threw me in the deep end shrieking that I had to get the toys. I couldn't swim and she knew it bt when I tried to climb out of the pool she stepped on my fingers. My 7 year old sister stood by the pool dumb struck in shock. I did not sink. I felt a spirit guide me to cup my hands and do the dog paddle. The boy (who was my age (but knew how to swim) jumped in and helped me get into the shallow end. I got out and my sister and I ran home.
That is how I met my first of some of me guides. It took a life and death struggle.

you can ask pretty much anything once you are connected to the guide. you can ask things that will help you progress in a certain area you are intereseted in, like AP. you can ask a guide to pull you out but there is no garuntee that you will get out because it takes somewhat of a conscious decision on your part for you to allow yourself to get out.
this one time i was having a hard time separating from my body, i had enough consciousness in my real time body to move around its legs and arms but just couldnt get myself completely out. i called my guide and reached out my real time arm for her to grab and pull me out which she tried to do but what had happened was that i was still not ready to get out and my real time arm just stretched out with her pulling. so that little experience goes to show that you cant depend on the guide to do things for you, she can help you do things yourself but ultimately you have to put in the extra umph that is needed to get what you want.
The best thing to do is when you first ask anything try to make it as simple like yes/no answer,its better if its not a personal question. Like Is it going to be sunny tomorrow? After a few days of practise you can ask him personal questions.

I've got five Guides;
The first is a guide in training who I go to for all standard matter, at the moment I am unable to communicate with her, but I can summon her, so I do that and my teacher assists in the communication process.
The second is displays himself as a Tibetan Monk in white robes, the third is a very powerful healer who is in the same group of souls that I work with, she hasn't shown herself yet but I just finished my first Reiki course and am planning on doing an Orion healing course too, and I know she is waiting for my proficiency to read a certain level before she enters.
I am unsure of one of them, although the fifth is the leader and mentor of the group of souls I am a part of, and he won't show himself until I'm 50.
I think you will find spirit guides will come into your life when its time for them to do so, the trainee Guide has the most active role because im her case study so the more guiding she does with me the more experience she gets. In my life I have always asked things in my mind and my intuition guides me to the answer, although I'm unsure of whether this is my Higher Self or one of the guides.
One example is a book in a bookstore, I had no idea where it was but I asked and looked up at the very top shelf and hey! There it was. I would never have looked there if my intuition hadn't come to the fore.
