I just finished watching it and I have to say it made next to no sense to me; however I wasn't really into the movie enough to understand it. after wards I went to the special features and saw this short document on near death experiences so that's how I got that's the premise of the whole movie (which didn't help it make much more sense) but the way the people described it was pretty interesting so do any of you have any thoughts on the matter of near death experiences?

Amazing movie.
I love to figure out movies in total detail, so I managed to on this one. :)

At the crash, like it shows at the end, the patient gets hit and killed.
The psychologist and the girl meet there, like it shows.
They get together, and start dating.
The psychologist goes insane, and his mind acts like the patient survived.
Whenever it shows the patient just walking away from it, that is what the psychologist's mind is making him believe. That he was okay.
So he imagines the patient coming into his office, saying he's going to kill himself, yadayadayada.
He keeps seeing things over and over again.
i.e: (Kid with balloon) "Mommy, is that man gonna die?" Because that kid was at the actual accident.
At the end, when the patient kills himself in the psychologists mind, he remembers what actually happened.

So the first time I watched it, I thought it was the patient going crazy, and he survived.
But I watched it again, and yeah, it's the psychologist.

One of my english teachers in high school had told the class I was in about his near death experience one day.  At that time I was very into learning about OBEs.  I remember him saying it was the best experience he had ever had.  He also mentioned he could not wait to die again.  This teacher always stuck in my mind even today because he had this presence to him that just gave off this feeling that he had no fear of death.  It was one of the best teachers to be around and you could tell he enjoyed living life very much.

In short this teacher is one of the reasons I am still on the path of spirituality today.  I would not recommend trying to have a near death experience though... the "near" part is a very fine line.

Namaste,
