The Spiritual Cinema Circle

I noticed the "The Spiritual Cinema Circle" advertisement on the Monroe Institute web site. It looked like something that I might be interested in. I really enjoy uplifting movies and that is one thing you don't find too much of in your average rental store.

Is anyone a member of their club? If so, do you recommend it? It doesn't seem like there would be enough movies out there that fall into the spiritual category to keep the selection fresh and interesting but I guess there is.

Any comments welcome!

As a movie-lover, it sounds like a good idea. But like you said, there's not really that many "spiritual" movies out there, unless you mean movies like "The Passion of the Christ" (blah).

I suppose "What the Bleep..." would work.

However, I find some of the most spiritual movies to be tragic, non-uplifting ones with a meaning behind the story.

I'd like to see their list.

I saw an ad for it in a magazine. I am not sure about it. My initial thought was it is probably independent, never heard of before films, which could be good or not.
Alice had got so much into the way of expecting nothing but out-of-the-way things to happen, that it seemed quite dull and stupid for life to go on in the common way.

Thanks runlola, that was very helpful!

I guess I'll refrain from joining the movie club for now.

Runlola, were the movies spiritual, uplifting, religious, or a mix of those?

One of my favorite spiritual movies of all time is "What Dreams May Come" with Robin Williams.

Maybe be a good subject for another thread - spiritual movies we watched that we really enjoyed.

Mine too.  I love the fact that he ends up in the painting sliding around all over the place.  It's a brilliant film.

Thank you, Runlola.

I love What Dreams May Come! I want to read the book some day.

Thanks for the links Selski, but no need to drudge up old news.
