descending vision

Mine seems to drift sideways given half the chance.
I got too distracting to cope with so I started doing meditation with my eyes closed at first. If they open during the meditation they stay focused directly forward and nothing attracts the eyes.

does anyone else have the problem of your vision descending while you're trying to stare at an object for long periods of time?  if i'm meditating w/ my eyes open and trying to concentrate on an object that is anything but in the lowes part of my field of vision, my focus point slowly drops down until it can go no further.  it's not really a problem because i just place the object at that spot now but it would be nice to be able to focus on something in a different place.
