i almost always sleep in a pitch black room. seems to let me drift off easier/faster when i'm ready to just crash and sleep hard.
for as long as i can remember i've disliked having any sort of lights or television on while attempting to sleep. even little lights like the power light on my pc's tower have to be covered-no exceptions.

i had an experience last night that got me thinking...

after a busy day at work and an upsetting packer game(#$%&^&*%@%^), i exhaustedly retired to my room and plopped on top of my comforter on my bed. fully knowing i'd probably be out for a long duration of the night, yet feeling far too defeated at the time to properly set myself up for sleeping bliss...(ya know-pj's, under the sheets/cover, fan on, pillow nest...etc.)
light in the corner of my room, which also happens to be my meditation corner, was left on.
once i fell asleep i was almost instantaneously aware in the dream. i played with my cat Z for awhile and then woke up (for real.)
the first thing i did was look at that friggen' light.
looking back on it now trying to feel that experience...i could feel the light....throughout the entire experience.

before, during, after.
then it was as if the light was like a reference point in the dream.

so it's got me thinkin'...makes sense right? because everything is light: we are light, i am light-it would make sense that i can sense outside light on other levels and in other ways.
like right now...i feel like i can feel the light as if it were an entity...not just know it's on by seeing it on or illuminating my room...somehow beyond that.

does this make sense to anyone else?

forgive me if this has been discussed or brought up at some other point...and no, i don't have high wattage heat lamps in my room.\\
