This guy was featured on the History channel's Stan Lee Superhumans show.

He was able to us "chi" and put any animal to sleep. On the show he, demonstrated this twice using a HERD of buffalo and also with llamas.

It's incredible so check it out.

This link isn't English but you can read the article and know what's happening on the clip.

He claims that he got the power one night when he woke up and was experiencing some extreme vibration sensations. Hmmm? You know, that sounds familiar. :-D

I watch that show ever week now, since we splurged for History 2.

The people on that show are fascinating and defy logic and physics.

My kind of people, lol!  :-D

On the Randi prize , this guy will need to knock James Randi out , even then he will state that it was some kind of trick .  It my understanding that he does not really have the money .  A you tube video of this guy making Randi unconscious , then him saying its just some kind of trick would be interesting .  The movie men that stare at goats kept coming to mind as I was watchng the videos .

Yeah that is a good point... if Randi is convinced none of them are real then he should have nothing to fear from this guy moogling up his chi.

Knowing Randi's operating procedures though this guy would be disqualified by some technicality before he even got to his first trial. Really, Jesus could sign up for that prize and be disqualified instantly.

Is this the guy who can start fires with chi energy too? I saw that video and was like whoaaa! He said he just mediates daily. I'd like to know what kind of meditation that is.  :-D Cool stuff but you know Randi will say its somehow a fake.thanks for sharing its all bad =D

I think this is the guy you mean .  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gid-Ag082lo    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3F3ovb2kZ9Q   He is also    using chi to heal people .  On some thing different , written about in the national enquier ( mid 70s)there was this guy  from Brisil that would heal people using very crude methods  , that would work . He stated he had been a n.a.t.z. in his past life and he was making up for karma .  I wish I could remember his name , he was a wild driver and died in an car wreck .
p.s. I found links on this doc. but its worth a post of its own .

Randi always has a way out.. he's a professional debunker...not a professional skeptic as he claims... skeptics still keep open minds remember.

Exactly. It is very easy to call yourself a sketpic or a scientist these days, but most are unworthy of that title-  a scientist searches for the truth at all costs, and is suspicious of accepted dogmas.

Dismissing the unexplained "because science has gotten us past that" is as religious an idea as any a Jew or Hindu ever thought up. A true scientist marvels in the unexplained because it is a boldfaced challenge to prevailing theories, and is exactly the point where new discoveries will be made. Those that hide behind established doctrines are both posers and misguided zealots.

The wording in Randi's contracts are such that you basically have to admit to being either a fraud or a quack. If you don't mind admitting to being a whacko then by all means apply. The applicants that do make it through his strenuous screening process are the ones that say they can make an animal defecate through brainwaves and other sill stuff.

Actually, I was thinking about James Randi the other day as I was watching a documentary on the afterlife on Netflix.
I think it was called "The Afterlife Investigations"... it was mostly about the Schole Group in the UK who used to do that kind of thing.

It was interesting because for a few minutes they focused on a Russian woman who had psychokinesis abilities.
Now, she was independently tested many times scientifically... and it was scientifically PROVEN that she could do what she did with PK.

Someone like this, who was backed by scientific research would *STILL* not convince James Randi.  So, I mean... there *IS* scientifically verified people out there who can do these things.  People like James Randi will always refute it though, simply through ignorance.

Oh and by the way... I highly suggest watching that documentary if you can.  It's great!  :)

There has been a scientific debate over the last 2 years about something called the "E-catalyzer" that some Italian physicists built.

They claim it is a reactor that is fusing  hydrogen nuclei to nickel to make a copper isotope, which then decays again back to nickel of a different isotope. It is claimed to produce astounding amounts of power at about a kilowatt-hour/ per cent USD, and not produce any nuclear waste or harmful gamma rays, and do it all under 1000 degrees celsius (which qualifies as cold fusion, since most fusion occurs  in excess of a million degrees celsius).

Now whether or not the device is what it is claimed to be, a working prototype exists and is powering a couple factories already. This is something that doesn't equate with what is known about particle physics, yet seems to exist, and should therefore be investigated heavily.

James Randi has publicly denounced the team, on the other hand, for just that reason- it doesn't equate well with what is known, and is therefore certainly wrong. That to me shows that Randi lacks even a superficial understanding of science, because among the very basic principles is that nothing outside of mathematics is known with certainty, and all theories are subject to question, because it is impossible to prove a theory, only support it with aparent evidence. If Jame's Randi's ideas and examples were practiced since the 1800's, we would have none of the technology we possess today, because most fields of science were felt to be closed books with no new discoveries to be made, and everything explained.

James Randi doesn't live a life of science, he lives a life where he knows all the answers already.

A very.similar.device has been made a long time ago. It uses iron and changes its structure to another isotope. It gives tremendous power and does give off a radioactive gas as a byproduct.
As its already known to function, Randi and his posse have a disclaimer in the full stop at the end of the first paragraph in his rules. It's microprint ya know, So it don't count none.
His offer is already rhetorical.
:-D

I don't know much about Randi, but the world is full of charlatans, looking to cash in on self proclaimed abilities, bogus stories and bogus products, which you can find all over the alternative thinking parts of the internet.

Skeptics and scientists serve an important role in debunking them, but of course one always has to keep an open mind, which some of these people refuse to have.

Skeptics and scientists serve an important role in debunking them, but of course one always has to keep an open mind, which some of these people refuse to have.

THere is what is called the scientific attitude which consist of 3 behaviors:

Curiosity ( always asks questions, uses critical thinking, )

Skepticism ( be open to challenge, doesnt accept everything they are told but still keep an open mind in case of see 3rd behavior)

Humility ( to accept it when your hypothesis are wrong)

Remember Scientist who engage in skepticism are still open minded and will to test in case they hypothesis against a claim are wrong...

Randi doesnt keep an open mind... he goes straight for the debunk...

I saw a youtube video where he debunks a man who claims to be magnetic who held light sheet metal to his chest claiming it was being held to his chest magnetically... randi put powder on the mans chest and the metal know longer stuck to his chest....

How do we not know randi did not soak this powder in opposite charged water that would force the magnets to oppose rather than stick ?

No one tests randi ??
