I've thought about this alot and thought about posting it as well....

Funny you thought the same thing.

So many things fit in... Like how thought becomes true, the techniques they use to access the dream world, etc etc

I wonder if we could do what Egwene did and take your whole physical there and actually travel.....

That would be awsome.  If only people could master it to the extent that the Aiel Wise Ones have.

I think there is a lot of truth in Robert Jordan's writings. Like the description of the True Source. If there ever was magic in the world, I feel that description of it is the closest to the truth that one has ever come.

Wheel of time is my favourite fiction series, only just ahead of my 2nd : "The Necroscope series" (Necroscope is someone who talks to the dead, most excellent). I've often thought of their astral world "Tel'aran'rhiod" & wondered if Robert Jordan got the idea from astral/obe literature.

My favourite character would have to be Matt Cauthon, & he reminds me of me, (not the gambling, or being a Taveren) just the falling face first into luck all the time, without trying to be lucky. Rand is obviously kick arse & so are his head popping black followers.

Shayde, where did you hear that the 10th is coming out in November? Maybe it's just the delay here in Australia, but they usually come out at Christmas over here, clever marketing I think, & usually gets sold out quick. I thought it was going to conclude around the 8th book, but now at 10, I realise that there is a lot of things to be covered & the eyeless Myrdraal havn't come back into the picture yet, so it looks like it could be as many as 13.

May the source be with you

Ah yes Mat, why did I spell it Matt?Hmmmmmmmm I'll have to watch that, hehe.

I don't have the last 3 books with me, as a friend is reading them, but didn't Egwene eventually learn to not only go into the astral non-physically, but as she developed more ability, she could open up a doorway in the physical by utilising that technique somehow & she could "travel" over great distances in seconds. Or am I getting it mixed up with Rand & his gateways?

A very similar concept that the main character Harry uses in "The Necroscope", although the time period is present & the main characters all have some sort of psychic talent. Harry learns to talk to the dead as a kid & learns a technique to travel/teleport from a long dead mathematician called "Mobius". Mobius teaches Harry that time is a loop (I guess you could say a wheel of time) . You can go forward & back in time & when you "fold" the circle over on itself it then forms the Mobius 8, or the Mobius Continuum & you can do it quicker (travel).

I wont spoil the rest in case any of you get the book/s, but it's pretty graphic. The main enemy the story revolves around are very similar to the "Gao'ould" (spelling?) from Stargate the t.v show, & this story was out before the movie "Stargate" so I wonder if the writers got the idea from that book/ series?

Use the source & may it be with you.

For those who are familliar with the book series 'The Wheel of Time', I was wondering does the Real Time Zone remind you a little bit of Tel'aran'rhiod?
