i love bittorrent, it is simply a brilliant way of sharing files!

i use thepiratebay (Swedish site) it has a lot of torrents and a crazy admin (read the legal threats they are hilarious!) //www.thepiratebay.org

but if cant find your torrent there you should search for it. i use http://isohunt.com/ but there is a official search machine also //www.bittorrent.com

and the program that I have the best results with is Bitcomet. just remember only to upload max 80% of you total upload capacity otherwise you simply choke your download.

chill, bittorrent is much safer to use than most filesharing software. you only share what you download unlike DC++ for instance, there you must share around 30 gigabytes or so in order to gain access to the good hubs, and that is a lot of files you can get busted for!

in Denmark we have the APG, which is a firm like RIAA. they are pretty nasty too. i saw a show with them where they showed how they busted the fileshares and it was via DC++ some unlucky guy was sharing 20 gigs and it was just two clicks then they had his ip and a letter was on its way to him with a massive fine

i have never heard of anyone getting busted for using bittorrent, it is simply a way tougher process, perhaps when everybody leaves DC++ (which will never happen!!! lol) then the focus will be on bittorrent. Well I have no idea  just guessing

did you know that when bittorrent was working at max 1/3 of all the traffik of the internet was going through it? that is a lot of data!

but if you use peerguardian and bittorrent you should be relatively safe, but if you are that kind of person that gets hit by lightning and have planes crashing down on your house all the time then maybe you should stay away from it hehe

Every single person i know with an internet conection downloads ilegal stuff, even if it is just mp3 lol...
It's not ilegal to download mp3, games and movies if you own the original, you ARE allowed to own backups if you bought it.
Those companies like APG and RIAA cannot ckeck if you own the originals through the internet, the only way is to search your home or something.

Downloading via p2p is perfectly legal in Canada. What's illegal is hosting. So, if you're Canadian, download away, but if you want to avoid the feds don't let people upload from you.. XD

FENc3r, you are correct, unless there is someone doing thousands of uploads, i think that they will not go at your home...

In my country there is some control i think, but they control the guys that are selling illegal copys of CDs.

I suggest learning how to use the newsgroups, you can generally find anything your after there, and theres no need to worry about getting tracked by the mpaa, riaa or whatever happens to be in your country.

Hi Kazbadan,

First you will need a download client, grabit is a very easy one to use.

Dont even think of trying to use outlook, total waste of time.

Then you will need a newsserver, your net provider should have one you can use for free but 9 times out of 10 there not very good. I use newshosting at the moment $8 a month for unlimited downloads aint too bad.

Newsgroups are really worth learning how to use imho, far far better than kazza, edonkey, torrents, and you always download at full speed too.
Once you have learnt them check out the newsgroup. alt.binaries.paranormal  !! theres a ton off stuff there and im sure alot of the people on astral pulse will find intresting.

I also suggest using newsgroups.  I use newshosting.com as a provider and newzbin.com for indexing.  Since I've started using newsgroups I haven't gone back to using torrents or p2p.  It's fast, anonymous, and there are a lot of files that are easy to find.  I've gotten a ton of good stuff off the paranormal group.
