True fears?

Hello everyone!

After doing some more research about Astral Projection, I've noticed that there are a lot of discrepancies when it comes to fear. Some say that so long as you are positive, that you have nothing to fear. On the other hand, some say you must take supreme caution when performing a projection. My question is, what do we really have to fear? I haven't had a successful AP yet, and I'd like to know what I'm getting into  :-P

Thanks again!

FDR said it best... AND it relates as much to our non-physical adventures as much as it does to our physical lives:

"I am certain that my fellow Americans expect that on my induction into the Presidency I will address them with a candor and a decision which the present situation of our people impel. This is preeminently the time to speak the truth, the whole truth, frankly and boldly. Nor need we shrink from honestly facing conditions in our country today. This great Nation will endure as it has endured, will revive and will prosper. So, first of all, let me assert my firm belief that the only thing we have to fear is fear itself—nameless, unreasoning, unjustified terror which paralyzes needed efforts to convert retreat into advance. In every dark hour of our national life a leadership of frankness and vigor has met with that understanding and support of the people themselves which is essential to victory. I am convinced that you will again give that support to leadership in these critical days."

Fear.
The unknown (to you).

If you let it win, you retreat... you fall back... you don't learn... you lose.  You fight this with strength and courage.  You forage on ahead, using Love as your guiding light.

It's very funny because I was thinking of this quote right as I wrote the post ahha. I will have to try and let go of my fear. Sadly, in terms of real life fears I have a very irrational fear of open water. I love the beach, and I love swimming, but if someone were to drop me in the middle of the ocean where there is only water to see for miles on end, I would panic. I hope that same fear doesn't apply for when I would like to explore deep space. That would be a shame.

Oh, you're going to have a swimmingly good time then.  ;)

Just remember... REMAIN CALM... you're safe... you're fine... keep your wits with you.  You'll be fine.

Have you had lucid dreams?

If so... then you're good.
Don't worry so much about HOW you "get out", just experience the "out".  :)

People like William Buhlman (while an awesome guy) put too much emphasis and importance doing this from an awake state.  It's NOT important.

I have had very few along the years. I'm working on learning how to have them.

Real fear is inside of you, it hides, waiting for a chance to leap into the open.
Real fear is always around the corner, unknown to you, seething in its destructiveness.
Real fear is the only fear you have.
Real fear is you.
Real fear is you scaring yourself.

Why are you scaring yourself?

Is it because you don't realise you're scaring yourself?
Is it because you are outside of your comfy shell?
Is it because you are only looking at surface thoughts?
No, it's because you don't know yourself.
You are the master of your destiny.
You are stronger than anyone in your position.
You are yourself and yourself is made from the whole of you from within.
Remember your dreams of greatness, this is the real you.
Awaken the real you, it has no fears.
Go into the astral, find the waters of forever and hover above the surface. Defy its grip, do this with one simple thought, "I refuse to lose to the waters of forever". Be defiant and hover for as long as it takes. The waters will stop pulling you in and you're free.
Nothing can harm you now and you're free from yourself.
No fears, no being scared.
Win this one and you'll never regret it.
There's far more where the eye can't see.
Close your eyes and open your mind.

AAAAAAAA

If you don't want to put yourself in a specific situation, then fear is very real. But fear is kind of irrational in all honesty. It can be very helpful in this physical reality, but on the astral plane where you are not limited by the barriers that your physical body sets, you can protect yourself. You can basically choose what comes to you and what doesn't. If you keep a positive attitude, you will attract positive things.

Y'all are awesome, I needed to hear that.

I've already said this a few times already but I'll say it as many times as I have to. You will be surprised what you are actually capable of confronting. Many people actually laugh at themselves for being so fearful in the first place.

You would be doing yourself a huge favor if you stay away from the fear mongering threads. Most of them are complete nonsense. Another problem that comes from reading those fear threads is that you will come across a scenario that you had never considered personally and all that happens is that you make someone else's fear your own.

My only "warning", if it shouldn't even be considered one, is that you should prepare yourself for the possibility of having your view of reality flip around upside down. This can cause some anxiety for some who go into this hinking that all that's gonna happen is that they might fly around their city for a bit. :-D
It ain't what you don't know that gets you into trouble. It's what you know for sure that just ain't so.

Interesting. As an open minded person, I don't really think the new reality realization would cause anxiety. Sure, originally while I read about this last year I was thrown off but if I'm to experience this then it would only reassure me about certain things. Time will tell.
