Title: What does everyone do for a living?
Post by: Euphoric Sunrise on July 31, 2004, 23:44:20
Welcome Aura, i believe i remember talking to you on another message board [:P]

I'm in my last year of high school, and have no job at the moment (i'm a very lazy person).
Next year i plan to go to University and study Archaeology, perhaps also do minor studies in philosophy, psychology, history, theology or whatever i come across.

I am a full-time carer to my parents.  I did study to uni level in psychology/sociology but I couldn't go onto higher levels because of family demands.  May go back in the future.

Uh... woah.. o.O.. No offense to your nationality, but where in the world is that string of consonants? I'm assuming the mid-east, but I've never heard of a Kyrgyzstan before.

Haha, I actually live in the USA. I just put that country because that's my habit on every message board, for some reason.......

Well, since I'm in Idaho, my "career" involves potatoes. Not that I want it to, but if your license plate says "Famous Potatoes" there's a good chance those famous potatoes will work their way into your life. I eat a lot of french fries too....

I also try to make money self-publishing on the side...

Aura of Light, i am a teacher (childs between 6 to 12 years more or less). This year it´s probable that i dont get a job because things are bad in my country: our education system it´s different from yours in USA.

Wow, seems a lot of people are in twelfth grade here. Who'd have thunk? (me too.) No job at the moment (because I quit the first and got fired from the second, GO ME!!!)

I want to be a Social Worker, or possibly a teacher. I'd love to teach. I also wish to become a famous (although I just might make a psuedoname) writer (if I'd stop picking up so many hobbies, I'd've finished by now, but another week, YEAH WEEK!!!)

Also, I'd like to own my own hotel, or chain of hotels, 'cause I use to watch a lot of I Love Lucy and thought that Fred and Ethel (sp?) were pretty neat. And I'd also like to make movies/television series [not shows that last for seasons, but just limited series, 'cause you can just wrap up everything without having to drag it all out (16 series so far, and I'm planning on using my money from my books to make the shows and movies)] After I become rich, I'm going to retire (at the age of fifty) and move to some other country (I like USA, but I there's a whole world out there). Become a farmer.

Knowing me, I'll probably end up working at Toca Bell or something. *sighs* Ah well.

lol i'm grade 12 too! i know this is lame but what i want to be is a martial arts grandmaster and teach not only martial arts but philosophy too. but since that takes decades and decades, i'm gonna become a pharmacist first. or since that will be a really boring job i might decide to become a part time natural path.. both seem like great careers[:D]. but no matter what i want to become a grand master and run my own gym. hopefully i will be some great influence on people no matter what becomes of me[:)]

I just finished high school and have four years of college ahead of me as an english major. Right now, I work at a boring grocery store. In the future, I think I'm going to be freelance writer, maybe. All I know is that after college I don't want to get a "real" job; maybe I'll go on a pilgrimmage!

I work at a... ehhhmm.. a place where people can bet money on.. yea, all sorts of stuff. ...also working as a tennis coach, although I haven´t had much time for that this summer.

Don´t really like work in general so I figure I´ll win bigtime on sportsbetting soon enough and retire early... if not, who knows - maybe I´ll become an olympic swimmer. (having Nay to thank for that)

Over n' out.

I have a bachelor's degree in graphic design (Magna release Laude), but working as a customer service representative...

I unfortunately graduated just as the economy crashed...

I did work as an office manager in a small museum for 2 years, in which I did most of their graphic design, including their webpage:

http://www.dreamscape.com/romehist

I unfortunately had to leave b/c they only paid $6 an hour, and capped my hours at 20 a week. [:(]

I've been doing the customer service thing for 9 months now ($8/an hour -- not bad/not good and I've been bonusing an extra $1.50/hour due to good stats), and am considering going back to school...either that, or taking plan B, which is to take the money I have been saving and move to a city in another state in which the cost of living is low, and the probability of finding a job in my field is much higher.

If anyone in the field is interested in networking, feel free to PM me.

My end goal is to start a business, preferrably a partnership...it has been my dream for a long time. [:)]

Wow, I just realised that their new web administrator tried to put some code in or something and messed up some of the pages, depending on what system you're viewing it on...it looked fine last nite on my mac, but I viewed it on my parents' PC just now and some of the pages are a little sloppy...

Just wanted to let you know it's not from me [:)]

I'm entering my senior year at a Jesuit university studying international business economics. I'm developing a blood vendetta against didacticism in all its forms.

I secretly harbor the delusion that it may be possible to dream tomorrow's lottery numbers. Every time I have come close to dreaming it I stop out of fear - both fear of success and the fear of failure. For some sick reason I consider this paradoxical fear worthy of study and I practice fighting it on a daily basis, such that I consider it a part time job which will pay off sometime in the future.

That's basically another way of saying that I am not only jobless, but that I have no clue about what job I'd like to have!

Hi, I'm a N3wB obviously, but I'm just curious as to what people interested in metaphysics do for a living.
