This is probably as good a place as any for the topic. It crosses over many subjects so there's no one particular forum it would be more appropriate in.

Based on recent personal experiences, I totally agree.
More than ever now we need to be careful about exactly who and what we're dealing with in the spirit world.

In people's eagerness to establish some kind of connection with a guide they neglect developing connection with their own infallable and completely trustworthy guide - their higher selves.

The first rule for any metaphysical study is "KNOW THYSELF"
I'd recommend to anyone who might be considering looking for a guide, or becoming involved in channeling or mediumship to really spend some good time getting to know yourself and your own spirit first. This is by far the best way to become aware of such spiritual interferrences.

I thought you may post on this, thank you for doing so.

With due respect, what I report here is not from a closed system of thought.  It comes directly from my own experience and that of others I know and or work with.  I would have to be one of the small number of people who do not adhere to any belief system, and in so doing I have never had any expectations of what I should or should not experience when astral or higher.

Many of us who have been spiritually active for the larger portion of our lives understand that we can tell the difference between Beings who have our welfare at heart and those who don't simply by the feeling we have when with them.  In this way we can know what the motivation behind the contact is.  And yes, since things are hotting up it is more important now to KNOW without the fear.

"See a white light...but be careful since there might be black behind it.."

I think there may have been some confusion about this aspect. The darkness has tried to prevent connecting consciously with the Light, in no way does this say be careful coz the darkness is behind it.

"Be in a nice environment in the astral...but be careful since you might be in a lower realm.."

The lower realms are unimportant to us in our search to Know our Self.  Even the RTZ is one of the least important realms, although it has the benefit of removing doubt in the experiencer when they become aware of being OBE for the first few times.

In our search to remember who and what we are, we travel through many realms, some are Astral and others are higher.  You will find what you need to know in the higher astral realms, since that is where a part of the great and powerful Soul we are exists.  So why would anyone want to travel the lowest realms. These places are populated with the kinds of entities and beings that would scare the hell out of most people, so unless you are working through deep fear issues why would you want to go there ?  For those who are relatively new to OBE these realms can and will frighten people away from wanting further OBE's

Having direct experience for yourself will clear away these misperceptions.

What the initial post was about, was to inform others of what I have discovered.  This is an important issue since people even as experienced as James S has had some trouble because of just this type of thing.  What we need is for people to simply be aware that this is occuring at this time, that the darkside is getting stronger and more able to interfere with experiencers.  

In my mind this is not fear-mongering, it is simply reporting findings from my and other people's experience.  As such it provides an indication of how the balance lies currently and hints at what we must do to insure we are not caught in the web.

You're absolutely spot on with the idea of beliefs bleeding into the astral experiences - the "setting of expectations" thing. One of the most appropriate comments I've seen on what frame of mind to enter the astral with, is one of mild curiosity but no pre-concieved notions or expectations.

I understand both Tayesin's view and yours.
Having discussed this issue briefly with Tayesin prior to his post, I can see how your relating to it. You're both looking at the same coin, just different sides of it.[]

I think the message Tayesin is trying to get through is with the current prevolance of channelings and desires of people to seek guides, people are being decieved by beings masquerading as something more than they really are. A bit more knowledge of this fact can be useful in preventing this from happening.

As with the wolf in sheeps clothing, when you know to look for them, the nose and the claws are a bit of a dead giveaway. Knowledge of this is as good as having a loaded pump-action shotgun![]

In my case, I was 'distracted' from knowing my true guide, or indeed getting to know my higher self better, because of a lower being that was, for want of a better word, "inserting" itsself into my thoughts, interfering with proper spiritual communication and guidance. My intuition had set off the alarms, but I'd allowed my rational mind, fed by some rather convincing arguments, to override my intuition. Had I spent more time seeking my higher self, I think the problem would have become more obvious to me sooner.

AS it turned out, I got so confused with having both the right words whispered in one ear, and my intuition shouting in the other, I finally spat the dummy, broke contact and went back to my higher self for a bit of reality checking! It was after that a trusted medium introduced me to the spirit I was really supposed to be in contact with.

I understand Major Tom's points about the perceptions of reality being malleable to our belief's.  My Teacher was also intent on impressing that idea to me, which is why the state I journey in is focused, non-expectant, with a hint of joy. (James' awe)

The points also make an assumption that certain beliefs must be being held, in order for this to be experiened.  The opposite is the case here, this is something I have noticed on my journeys and in my work, each conducted without holding beliefs or expectations.

As such the intial post is only a report of a noticeable trend.

There is a misperception here, I understand the mechanics alluded to, but this is not the case here for this appears no where in the posts.  So where does this extrapolation come from ?

Agreed, if I held that mental set.

What belief do you say I have ?  I do understand what you are saying Major Tom, but please, you are judging me from your own experience.  And it does not apply as it makes massive assumptions which are not in play here.

Even years ago when daily journeying with the Guides, and playing/exploring I came across beings who were not friendly.  And I have been privy to something outrageous along the lines of a 'federation-style war' meeting.  Yet, prior to these experiences I was not holding to any belief system, and my Guides where present, which is one of the keys to my understanding of what is a reality.

I do not attempt to convince you that this experience is the only reality explaining this noticed trend, but, I seek to have you see that the mechanics you write about are not the cause of this experience as the preparations made before journeying are used for their clarity.

Hi All,
One of my friends works with people who are about to, and are in, the process of passing over from this life.  She has noticed something becoming more prevalent, which I have also noticed when working with 'attack victims' and others who seek direct experience of their Self.

Last year this friend discovered that a person she was helping through death got 'hijacked'in the lower realms by entities that have ulterior motives.  She claimed that the newly passed over were being interrupted on their journey and arriving at a place they thought was where we all go after death.  It wasn't.  It was a place lower than the Belief System Territorries and many people where being hijacked into this place.  

She also said that those who were hijacked are being prepared to be used as tools by those Beings doing the hijacking, in essence they were being 'brain-washed' into believing that they had made it through safely and were actually being processed for a quick return to Earth to be used as pawns in the war between light and dark.

I have also noticed what I call interferrence from the lower realms lately.  When opening up to the light I have noticed something like a 'black-sheet'that comes between me and the light, this has also happened for a number of people I work with.  Moreso, I have found the same kind of interuption when working on teaching an attack survivor to find their inner strength.  The interuption is very strong and consistent, as it attempts to get the person to doubt.

And, I have noticed that there is a form of interuption happening that effects the communication between humans and their Guides.  It works in such a way as to have the person think they are talking with their Guide, but are in fact being 'fed' sight and sound from a lower level.  Sometimes it has been happening while a person is in touch with their Guide, the interuption comes in from a lower level and is not detected.  So the person in communication becomes prompted with information that is modified through interuption from these lower levels.  As you could imagine it can cause all sorts of problems.

I certainly think that this is what I have been seeing here at AP over the past 6 months too.  Not in every case, but it is working in many cases.
