Jesus is one of the few from this Earth who actually "got it." He's the ultimate role model, one we should look to if we want to advance spiritually . . . at least of all the spiritual role models, I think he's the best. That's just personal opinion; others would look to Mohammed, the Buddha, whatever - - - and that's fine with them, the universe is a BIG place. I study the works of most of the great spiritual leaders, and get a lot out of my studies.
Most of the religion built AROUND Jesus is not really about Jesus at all; it's politics, old, outdated, stupid politics. The way to separate the wheat from the chaff is to pray (and pray, and pray, and pray), and get to know Jesus personally, and draw one's OWN conclusions about what Jesus would have you do with your life.
I feel this in my heart, but don't feel the need to force it down people's throats. If people ask me what I think, I tell them. Like now!
I think it is hard to get a clear picture of Jesus from the current texts. There are so many different versions and translations. But from my studies I would say that he is what he claimed to be the most in the Bible, a teacher. I think he is a savior but not in the way that most people think he is. I do not think that he is to worshiped like a god, and in so doing we will be saved. I think he was here to teach us to save us from ourselves. He taught people to be compassionate, caring, and loving. That people and life are important, not material things or meaningless laws. He taught people to love everyone, even your "enemies", be they an actual physical threat or just people who have different views than yourself. He tried to save people from "hell", hell being those places we create for ourselves because we cannot deal with our problems, such as hatred, greed, etc. Read throughout this forum and many other sources and you will find these human created hells. When Jesus said, "Believe in me and you shall be saved" I do not think that he was saying "worship me" but he was saying do as I have taught you, and what he taught was love, mercy, and compassion. I do not think that Jesus was trying to start a religion, especially not something like many are today. Yes there are a few good Christian churchs and groups, but many are too caught up in the things that Jesus was trying to get away from, meaningless laws. When Jesus said "I am the way, the truth, and the light" he meant his teachings, his examples, not his worship. Worship is meaningless if you do not follow the teachings of love and compassion.
Allanon, I don't get it. Do you worship Jesus, or God? I see you saying something like "You must trust in God!" Then "Worship only Jeus!" Confused![:(]

For me Jesus = God.[:D]
???????? ??? ? ?? ??????? ???? ?? ?????
He himself only claimed to be a son of God, hence his prayer to his father and his supposed last words of "Father, why have you forsaken me?"
In any case, he was certainly a man of the holy spirit or Christ consciousness.
And Allanon, just because Jesus was and is right, doesn't make the Buddha - the enlightened one - wrong. Or any other enlightened one, for that matter. Not that I have met any or know of any, but I hope there is an enlightened one in every generation.
God is God -- the name does not matter.

The Buddha was Right on a lot of matters like cleaning up our thought patterns.
However. At the time of his death the Buddha told his followers to "work out your own salvation cause I dont know" or somehing to that effect.
Christ was not on a death bed and in fact rose from the dead. Some of His last words to the disciples were to
18Then Jesus came to them and said, "All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. 19Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in[1] the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age."
But back to the issure at hand. Who do you think Jesus is? I have heard a teacher, enlightened human, a name. But no Saviour or Messiah? Interesting.
As I understand it, it is not important who the man Jesus was, the message was supposed to superceed the importance of the man. We (as humans) were NOT supposed to worship Jesus, he was a messenger, and we are supposed to live according to that message, whether catholic, protistant, jewish, budhist, or pagan.
I don't know if Jesus walked the earth as the messiah or not, I wasn't there at the time, but the message was a good one. Too bad some people get all cought up in the semnantics of the religion and ignore the message.
Who do I think is Jesus?
Jesus is the son of God. Just like I am the son of God, and everyone other human being reading this forum and living on the planet we call Earth, because God created us all. Jesus is just one of the most powerful ascended human, if not the first and most powerfull - not sure, I wasn't alive back then to verify, haha. And because of this he's a very special messenger of God. But he is not God. Only God can be God. This is my belief, if you agree with it or not.

Ok, well here we are again, disagreeing about a non-relavent topic that was posted. The only question I have to ask is: What good does it do to bicker and argue about something that NO ONE, not one single person on these forums can say "yup, you're right dag nabbit." The only thing that I see fit for these forums are AP related topics. Again back to my messages of "respect" and "pointlessness" we really need to stop with the silly messages that lead no where...maybe I am the only one that sees this?

tenaciouis, whatever anyone wants to discuss, i don't mind... if i don't like the topic, i just ignore it. i think allanon is searching for something with this question. i think he is searching for something just by being in this forum. so if it helps him to figure things out for himself and give him a new perspective on things, then great! besides, since AP can be a pretty subjective thing, too, we could just as easily bicker over something about AP, or many of the other subjects here. i mean, look at that whole scandal over mayatnik and the cult!
anyway, i think jesus was a brilliant man, who had great messages for us all. he had very important teachings, and i think that he's probably tearing his hair out in frustration in heaven or wherever over how the church has distorted his teachings, and how people kill each other over petty arguments over the interpretation of the bible. he is a saviour in a way, along with many other good people who thought the same way as him. anyone who can teach us valuable lessons about life is a saviour, in that they save us from despair, and from hurting ourselves and others, and promote harmony and compassion for others. his message was of peace and love for all, and i'll bet he's chillin' in the astral planes with his buddies buddha and all those other holy people, having great conversations. Curious Girl-
You are corrct. Don't get me wrong, it's not that I don't want to have topics such as this pop-up, its just that so many people will come to this post, and argue that he is / is not "god" and then we get into a huge fight...etc. Personnaly, I think Jesus was a wonderful person, Great teachings, and a great spirit. When ever I talk to him (Yes, I do pray) I feel so much better. But do I feel he is the only god? No. No one will ever understand what is really out there. There are beliefs, and everyone that disagrees will put up a fight.(well most everyone) I want people to be who they are, and If you're going to "hell" because your that way in someones eyes, so be it. Not starting a fight I hope [:)]

Smart Jew, Saviour of mankind, homeless idealist, peaceful hippy, etc, etc.
