Hi Paul,

There have been a number of posts that I've traded with goingslow since last Spring. In recent months he has had definite anger management issues but that was goinglow, he usually would come back the next time and apologize in his own way. Lately though his disposition has become very angry, and while that is not a problem in itself, it becomes one when the anger is directed in such a way that it can hurt others.

His long post actually hurt at least one other member. This goes beyond differences of opinion Paul, this is not having a disagreement, but more serious. You see with all of the people posting here from all over the world, there are bound to be disagreements. All that Adrian and the moderators are asking for is for us to treat each other with a measure of respect. That isn't too much to ask is it?

In any forum, such as a courtroom or a classroom, there are certain rules of conduct. That is what makes for a functional interchange of information and opinion.

You should try and think for a moment how hard it must be for someone like Adrian to manage a website like this. He doesn't get paid for it. He does it because he believes in the importance of maintaining a site where people can exchange varied spiritual ideas and opinions. Does he get thanks for this? Not often enough in my opinion, more often undeserved criticism and even attack.

Please think about what I've said. It's up to you, of course, but there is another side to this. You can do what you want, but my opinion is that your post and that banner are out of line and not deserved.

Please take in consideration that it is not a person we are discussing here, but a point of view expresses by a person.

We are free to disagree or agree.

It`s a principle of a free speech that is questioned by fellow members.

And the question is valid. Why Allanon is still here and Goingslow is gone?

I am not saying that Allanon should go, rather to allow others to question without been banned.

If one is offending somebody he at least should be given a chance to state his position.

However here it`s up to Adrian to decide what sort of forum he would like to maintain. And it`s up to each of us to agree or disagree.

The forum operates for an exchange of ideas, information and public opinion. As I set out in more detail in the goingslow thread, there are limits to what people can and should say before a line is crossed. This is true in every aspect of life, in any place, forum or country. The line was crossed here, whether you want to accept that or not. People were hurt, I know that for a fact, however it is inappropriate for me to say more than that.

No, I will not address the Allanon situation, other than to say examine all the posts and the responses. Look at what I've said here and in the goingslow thread about crossing the line, and ask yourself what you would do.

Nobody was banned for having an opinion or even expressing an opinion.  The banning occured when a person began to launch direct personal attacks against other members.  You can express your opinions and still be respectful about them.  If you fail to do this here or anywhere else in society and resort to attacking people, you can generally expect not to be welcomed back.  Try walking into a restaraunt or any other civilized place and publicly insulting somebody you don't like and see what happens.  Odds are you will be in court or asked to leave and not come back.  AP is no different.

Thank you for allowing me to write my opinion.  I got in a hot and heavy conversation under the book section title Children of the Matrix.  No one kicked me out and after reading that post it was ha heck of a meaner harsher conversation.  The fact that a single one mediator can ban some one is not a good practice.  It leaves for what in my perception has already come true.  People disagree ego's get in the way and people get hurt.  Isn't that a good conversation? where your beliefs hit you so hard and clash with some one you must get humble and look at what you believe.  Is it that worth it to get that upset? Do you have that much proff to back up your belief? No one has kicked out the Christians telling us we are going to hell.

After banning goingslow, I knew something was wrong. You banned him just befcause of his opinion. Then you said (not a direct quote, but this is the basic jyst of what you said) you wouldnt ban anyone just for their opinion.
