Okay, I had no idea that it was a fake, sorry.
There is no good, no evil, just hate...
Humans are strange like that, they are the one species that loves to hate...
My question without an answer is... Why?

I am with you on the 'alternative universes' thing. I think that prophets are people who have a skill of being able to perceive alternative universes where various 'possible' futures are all played out. In my view, the skill of the seer is being able to spot the vision/universe that is most likely to occur in our 'timestream' given all known current variables (current from his/her point of view that is). The result is that predictions that can vary in accuracy. Sometimes an unforseen event comes along which changes all the variables completely.

I think Nostradamus saw a possible 1999 scenario but that this universe did not play itself out in our 'time stream' as it were, but another one.

I also think that the seer's own upbringing and beliefs can influence the visions too, and nostradamus lived in an age where judgement day/end of the world ideas were common place, even more than they are today, as hard as that is to believe given some peoples rantings. For this reason, I think Nostrdamus might have been expecting some kind of end of the world event for 1999 and this expectation may have influenced his vision, just another possibility.

It's kinda interesting covering the 'old' ground of End Times with the recent events, no?
