Hi

Has anybody had any experience of Esoteric Society of Scotland?  or can vouch that they're an Ok organization?

On meetup.com they are advertising an astral travel/lucid dreaming course, free, I was considering going but I'm hesitant in case its some kind of cult, I'm often cautious of these things for fear of getting caught up in Scientology or whatever

thanks

If you can't find anyone personally, could you e-mail them and ask some questions? It would be good to get a better understanding of their methods before you decide. Every once in a while I search for groups like that around me... unsuccessfully.

I wish I knew some other people involved in Lucid Dreaming and Astral Projection personally. That would make talking about it so much easier without sounding crazy to other people.

Beero

Yeah it looks like a good idea, like I say I'm worried it might turn out to be a bit cult-ish
I think it is the same material as the course on gnosticweb.com, I took some of their classes before, thought they were quite good
My main motivation to go might be to meet other esoteric-type minded people, and any improvement in my AP ability would be great as well

Beero

I just searched astral pulse and seemingly there was threat of legal action between this site and theirs?  do they not go down well here then?

I'm sure if its an occult or doesn't feel right you could escape...or just walk out  8-)

Is that the case though if you're going to be meditating and trying to ap in a room with them, that you would realize and it would be easy to leave if something wasn't right
I'm still quite undecided by this, I'd like to go and meet other metaphysically minded people, still though, quite worried about if it turns out to lead into some kind of dangerous cult ... unlikely I know, but I worry about these things

Just ask them..what are they about, what can you expect. Where are you from and what do you practice ?

Beero

I'm from Scotland, I mainly practice silva method type stuff, astral projection and some chaos magick techniques.
But I've never been involved in a face to face (rather than online) group before, but I've decided to go along, there's 60 other people going so it should be fine.

Awesome, let us know how it goes and what you get from it.

Olga G.

Hello,

Coincidence to have come across this posting?

I am one of the people running the group, we love astral projection and spirituality, I can't understand why this person would suggest such a thing?  We love what we do and want to share it. We have been running our groups in Edinburgh and Glasgow for almost two years with free workshops in Meditation, Self-Knowledge , Astral Projection and more.

From a recent search perhaps very late, I have come across this posting to my surprise in three separate websites with identical subject headings (fluke?). I think there is a hidden agenda somewhere here.

Just to set the record straight, we are not at all how it's been laid out and we do not have any legal disputes.  We have searched through what the user meant, and we found out that 'Gnosticweb' asked Astral Pulse to remove threads that were engaging in unprovoked cyber bullying, which they did.  That's about it.  I am not sure why this person wants to use false information from 10 years ago from an organization that long ceased to exist as a criticism against our group. Is it to undermine our credibility?

There is no need to hide behind an anonymous user name, and I think it's sad that people spend their time attacking other groups.

We offer free courses and workshops simply because we love to, there is so much involved in getting together to learn about spirituality and practice meditation in larger groups, indoors and in nature. Things like these are scarcer to find these days and we are really happy to get out there and organise our events and we love doing it. Our events are always free and everyone is welcome.  It's more fun being in a group than doing this alone.

If anyone would like to hear more about us, visit www.esotericscotland.com.  We are also on the radio every Tuesday night at 6:40PM UK Time.

Best wishes,
Olga

Olga G.

Thank you very much for the welcome Lionheart :) Glad to be here and have the chance to clear things up.

And thank you desert-rat, on those sites there are a lot of positive & encouraging testimonials from what others say about us - who have actually gone to our events.

Best,

Olga
