Would you expect to notice anything unusual if you just visit a stone circle site on a random day?
When I visited Roslyn Chapel the guide said if you stood under this certain point some people claim to feel an unusual energy, but I didn't notice anything :-(

You're supposed to be able to experience weird "energies" there too, but nothing for me. They seem kind of evil anyways. It makes a for a fun Saturday expedition though.
I wouldn't expect anything, just take each moment as it comes.
At Gympie, in Queensland, Australia there is an ancient ritual hill that until 200 years ago had 13 standing stones on the top, etc... which I didn't know when I moved to the area.
I drove past the site regularly, nothing unusual about a tree covered hill, except that I would feel something... and this is what started me off asking questions about the site.
The feeling fluctuated throughout the yearly cycle, so some times it felt very weak and other times so strong I would be looking at the hill to try and discover what was causing the energy.
Anyway, I would not expect anything when I visited it or any other ancient power site, instead let it unfold for you.
I've got a friend who's really into conspiracy theories etc and he spoke about that Georgia Guidestones as being about the New World Order, like how they say they'll maintain the human race below x population, which is significantly lower than the population of the world today etc
