Ok so... I know this isn't Astral related AT ALL...
But after a year of having crooked curtains, I FINALLY fixed them.

A couple days worth of pulling plugs... dry wall compounding... new plugs (done PROPERLY this time)... but it was all worth it in the end.  :D

And I'm so happy that I wanted to share that. :)

How do you get crooked curtains?

lol - when one of my good friends moved into his new house, his grandmother had made him some curtains, and he tried to hang them himself. Tried is the word here. He was really excited about them and when I got over there to see them, they were about 3 inches higher off the floor on one side than the other. I pointed it out to him and he was like "Oh yeah, no one will notice." I did right off. 4 years later, they are still like that. Levels are cheap.

And now they make these fancy ones with lasers that almost do the work themselves.

Crooked curtains, everyday- that must have driven you mad ( ! )

From the "Zhuangzi" late Chapter 1 ( http://www.edepot.com/taochuang.html    )  :

Hueitse said to Zhuangzi, "The Prince of Wei gave me a seed of a large-sized kind of gourd. I planted it, and it bore a fruit as big as a five bushel measure. Now had I used this for holding liquids, it would have been too heavy to lift; and had I cut it in half for ladles, the ladles would have been too flat for such purpose. Certainly it was a huge thing, but I had no use for it and so broke it up."

"It was rather you did not know how to use large things," replied Zhuangzi.

"Now as to your five-bushel gourd, why did you not make a float of it, and float about over river and lake? And you complain of its being too flat for holding things! I fear your mind is full of underbrush."

Hueitse said to Zhuangzi, "I have a large tree, called the ailanthus. Its trunk is so irregular and knotty that it cannot be measured out for planks; while its branches are so twisted that they cannot be cut out into discs or squares. It stands by the roadside, but no carpenter will look at it. Your words are like that tree -- big and useless, of no concern to the world."

"Have you never seen a wild cat," rejoined Zhuangzi, "crouching down in wait for its prey? Right and left and high and low, it springs about, until it gets caught in a trap or dies in a snare. On the other hand, there is the yak with its great huge body. It is big enough in all conscience, but it cannot catch mice. Now if you have a big tree and are at a loss what to do with it, why not plant it in the Village of Nowhere, in the great wilds, where you might loiter idly by its side, and lie down in blissful repose beneath its shade? There it would be safe from the ax and from all other injury. For being of no use to others, what could worry its mind?"

----------

Zhuangzi thinks your mind is full of underbrush, Xanth. Need to get with the Dao! So busy trying to straighten curtains, you fail to see the subtle  grace of the crooked and untamed.

My curtains are probably haunted.

Blinds people... blinds work really well.

personalreality

curtains are an accent to the windows because blinds alone look drab.

i like roman shades.   8-)

I look at curtains and valances as one more thing I have to wash...... eventually.  :-D

personalreality

lol, yea, me too.  which is why i don't have any.  that's why i like my roman blinds, they pack enough punch on their own, no need to accessorize.
be awesome.

I had to google those to know what the hell they were.  LoL
I like those.  :)

personalreality

i know right.

they are all the decoration a window needs.

we actually had to start using them because the cats like to climb up in the window sill and when we have regular blinds they break them.  there will be like a hole on one side where they busted out the ends of the blinds from going in and out so much.  they can't break the roman shades.
be awesome.

The funny thing is, when I lived in Rome, there were no roman blinds, lol

Pretty much everyone has a sort of double-shuttered system, where there is a an outer louvred wheather shutter, and a flat inner one. I found it was a good system, since you can let in light, and let in air, in combination or separately.
