Hullo Jack!
I don't know the exact frequencies the Monroe Institute uses for the different focus levels from Focus 10 till Focus 27, but I am using their tapes for a year now. They sell on their site www.monroeinstitue.org the tapes called Wave 1 - 7 and you can experience Focus levels 10 till 21 (21 will be found on Wave 7 Odyssey). You must attend their seminars to get till Focus 27 which is the highest you can get from them. and that is Gateway Voyage and Lifeline. You experience Focus level 33/34 if you attend Exploration 27 and till Focus 49 if you attend the new seminar Starline, which started in October 2003.
I can tell you from my own experience that the brain is trained with the tapes to reach the different focus levels and then you can do the same without the tapes, although I do on a daily basis Focus 27. The experience of course of the tapes in the institute is much better and more clear, due to the energy of the place.
I would recommend you to get Wave 7 Odyssey and the new Wave 6 with Free Flow 15 and the tape Free Flow 12 from another Wave.

Thanks for the reply.  Forgot to mention that I have the Monroe Gateway CD Series and have also installed the BWgen demo version.

Although I have had some success with the Monroe CDs, the BW gen seems to work better for me.  Having said that, I would be interested in knowing the relationship between the BW gen frequencies and the Monroe Focus states.  I do understand that Monroe has used multiple frequencies to ??? create what he calles Focus States and that it would not be possible to reproduce this mix with the BW gen to get the equivalent results.  However, I would appreciate some comments to help me move forward. For example, if I had some idea of the BW gen frequencies that came close to Monroe's Focus 3, 10,12, and 21 states I think it would be possible for me to move forward.

Hi Jack,
this is a copy from a former link http://www.astralpulse.com/forums/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=4412 where I posted this:

from all of Monroes books, including his biography: catapult and the TMI materials, I got the suspicion that the focus level actually is a direct reference to the (highest) frequencies used to attain these levels. It is not that simple! As I told you, they use a sophisticsted mixture of different signals. What I found out is, that

Focus 10 is mainly 4hz hemi-sync
Focus 12 is mainly 10hz hemi-sync
Focus 21 is mainly 16hz hemi-sync
allways together with low frequency signals, tones, music and pink noise.

So this did not quite confirm my theory, but I think one can see the system behind.
Its also quite sure that TMI sells a defused version only of their original resident programms and this could also imply, that they lowered the frequencies used. In this case my original theory would still hold. They sure lowered some of the signal volumes to make it saver for beginners.

From all the different systems I tried so far, including my own experimental files, the original hemi-sync cds/tapes work best for me. I specially favor the Wave VII Odyssey CDs and the Going Home - Subject tapes. They have a much better design than the "old" WAVE I -VI that sound a bit old fashioned in comparison. They also use higher focus level up to focus 27 (Going Home). And they are Monroes later works.
I am very happy at the moment with Going Home which I bought 3 weeks ago.

Still some questions?

Hello Helmut

I've recently completed volumes 1 through 7 of the Gateway cds and was wondering if there was a way to progress any further, into the focus states above 21, without having to actually go to the monroe institute, which would be somewhat difficult if you don't live in that country.  What is Going Home, by the way?

Hello all of you out there in the Ether. I am relatively new to this environment of the Astral and have some questions. I must also say that the level of quality of postings and answers is, for the most part, great and interesting.

My questions are as follows:
1. Would it benefit me to know what the Monroe Focus States frequencies are when using the Brainwave Generator and, what are the equivalent frequencies for each of the Focus States 3 thru 27?

2. What recommendations are out there about the mix of frequencies when attempting to reach a particular Focus State?

Jack
