projecting inward?

is it possible to astrally project inward? when i was little, especially when i would be sick, i would have a fan in the room with me, and i would concentrate on the fan. when i felt like i was falling asleep, everything seemed like it got further away from me. was really scary at the time.

Well, attention is lost to the physical world. The thing is that we are falling asleep and the conscious attention that we normally have in the physical plane begins to carry over to the astral plane. Then we might hear the whistling/humming of things within the astral body and/or even see things in the astral. Naturally, we fall asleep and end up in the astral plane. Of course, at the time people do not always notice that attention is shifting to the astral body nor do they remember the experience.

Absolutely, 100% yes.  Yes, yes, yes.

So what is meant by projecting inward? Inward to where? Since our mental awareness shifts to a different plane is there really and inward or outward or just a different level of awareness?

I think that "inward" is just the best description of it. The physical world is objective, or "outward". The non-physical would be the subjective side of the same world. It's the same world, but awareness has moved "inward".

The idea is that the physical is the farthest dimension from "The Source" we can find ourselves in.

When we project, indeed we project inwards, that is towards the source.

Moving about the etheric plane involves creating an energy double, as Robert Bruce puts it. The process consists in projecting "inwards" into the closest level, the etheric, and then projecting your consciousness in the form of energy, halfway between the astral and the physical.

As for projecting "inwards" as in "peering into our brains," this is pretty much what we do in unconscious dreams, although these dreams are only representative of a relatively small part of what's in there.

When accessing information from "databases" such as the akashic records, it's useful to create an "interface" that allows you to process things on the level of human comprehension. Some people create a small TV, or a library and pick out what they want to see.

I would guess that it would be a similar process to access ourselves, i.e. reconnect with past events from our lives which we have forgotten, or even events from past lives.

There's something I've always wanted to try, but haven't had the chance to yet, and it's to look for statistics about myself...

Have you ever wondered what it would be like if you suddenly found yourself in a room with each and every person you've ever talked to in your life? How about a room with all the food you've ever eaten? How about a list of all the good things you've ever done, and all the bad things you've ever done?

Surely there must be a way to "browse" ourselves and find out interesting things :p

I'm currently reading "The Secret of the Soul" by William Buhlman. In his book he describes the etheric universe as being the outer or most dense layer of all the dimensions. Each and every dimension inward is of a higher vibratory plane and also closer to "God" who supposedly occupies the center or the highest plane attainable and which transcends consciousness.

Is this what everyone is referring to? Quite a concept but how does anyone really know for sure?

Yeah, like when people say you will only find God "within" yourself, the same applies to AP. You're not actually going "outward" anywhere. It's all within. Frank spoke about this quite a bit. He seemed convinced that even an RTZ projection was "inward". I tried to search on it, but there is too much information to go through. But a search for "phasing" with "Frank" as the author has some pretty cool stuff.
