Body asleep, mind awake...  :-)

In this forum I read time ago that a curious phenomenon occurs while falling asleep. Your body/brain get to a point where your brain must know if your mind is asleep (I know it sounds a bit weird).

So to say, some part of your brain that starts the dreaming process doesn't really know when the part of the brain that controls consciousness is disconnected.

To test it, the first one produces an unbearable physical sensation. If you are asleep you won't sense it, but if you're not, you'll change your body's position and that's the clue that the second part uses.

The trick, evidently, is to stand that sensation. It's a matter of practice, and if you can hold your position without moving yourself that brain's part will understand you're asleep and will put your body into a dreaming state, even if your conscious mind is still awake.

This all sounds a bit odd, so just put it in practice to know and experience the real usefulness of it. I've obtained good results, but I use to be so tired at night that it is rather impossible to maintain myself awake.

Good luck.

If you're in focus 10 and it turns into a dream, you've fallen asleep. If it turns into a lucid dream, you've switched from focus 10 to another focus (maybe f12 or f15).
