I am new to this whole thing and have never astraled before. I've looked into
it on other sites and they say to relax and just let myself drift out but i do not know what to expect.and i don't know how to leave my body. When i was younger my body would often fall asleep and my mind would would stay awake. i think they say it is sleep paralysis or something like that. I trained myself to stop doing it because i thought it was dangerous but now that i read it  is exactly what i need to do. I think i have gotten close to astraling before but the thing that always gets me is what to expect, and i don't know how to get out. im not sure what i will see so that's why i've come to u guys. what am i doing wrong? any tips will help, thank u.  if u can't post on forum feel free to email me or catch me on aim

Don't expect anything Smock24.

Do what I've highlighted above.  In fact, relax first.  Enjoy the relaxed feelings you experience, without any expectation of ANYTHING!!

You'll find that once you learn to relax more and more, strange things start happening, such as seeing whole scenes in your mind, or seeing through your closed eyelids.  Again, you will need to learn to accept these and simply observe them.

You also might find that your limbs feel oddly out of place to where you think they are.  That's a great sign of relaxation, and nothing to feel frightened about.

When you believe you are ready to "leave" your body, I would suggest the easiest way is to roll out.  By this I mean simply roll to the left or the right, as you would with your physical body.  You'll know if you are physical or not, if you fall off the bed and hit the floor with a bang (you are physical), or if you drift through the floor and keep on going down (you are not physical!).

But, really, learn to relax.  And then learn to relax even more.  It really is a most wonderful thing all on its own, without the ultimate goal of projecting.

Enjoy!

Sarah
We all find nonsenses to believe in; it's part of being alive.
