The term astral separation is used in place of astral projection because the account has been observed by many that the astral body naturally separates from the physical body at the onset of sleep (the problem being, suggestably, the subjects lack of awareness during the separation process). Following that, there is another problem: the subjects lack of a sufficient enough degree of awareness on return to recall memories). Astral projection, here, is deemed inaccurate because it implies propulsion--or the implementation of unnecessary effort to bring about the separation. Albeit, though many spontaneous astral separations occur do to propulsion. Nevertheless, this post stresses, that the natural separation is achievable by simply retaining awareness as the physical body experiences dormancy (falls asleep)

Mantra FARAON

A mantra might help to get past subconscious impediments when trying to still the mind for an astral separation. The things which are seen in the transition period of the astral bodies separation from the physical one as images and sounds are onsets of the actual dream occurrences that take place in the astral plane. Such images, sounds, sensations, etc. are the reason why most people have vague or semi-real astral experiences. The astral can appear far more substantial with the removal of dreams.

With a mantra it is possible to fall asleep consciously. An estimate of how long it might take to do a mantra is around an hour. Also, mantras can have the effect of causing lucid dreams.

Pronunciation:

FA (as in Far)

RA (as in Far); the R is trilled like a motor.

ON (as in Stone)

Each phrase of the mantra is chanted prolonged, mentally:

1. First, lay in a comfortable position, or sit in a comfortable posture or chair.

2. Inhale slowly and deeply. Then, slowly exhale (mentally) saying FAAAAAAA

3. Inhale again, and again slowly exhale (mentally) saying RRRAAAAAAA

4. Once more inhale, (mentally) saying OOOOONNN upon exhalation.

5. The mantra is (mentally) said on and on repeatedly.

Inhale...
FAAAAAAAAA(exhale)
Inhale...
RRRAAAAAAAA(exhale)
Inhale...
OOOOOOONNN(exhale)
Inhale...
FAAAAAAAAA(exhale)
Inhale...
RRRAAAAAAAA(exhale)
Inhale...
OOOOOOONNN(exhale)
Inhale...
FAAAAAAAAA(exhale)
Inhale...
RRRAAAAAAAA(exhale)
Inhale...
OOOOOOONNN(exhale)

It's not impossible...Many people learn to do it when saying mantras.

AP Symptoms With The Use of a Mantra

1. (laying down and going straight to the mantra)
- After an hour or two of saying the mantra subtle feelings begin to appear in the body of separation. Legs float slightly, at times almost undetectably--as well do other body parts.
Tip: keep saying the mantra up to about one plus hours.

2. After saying the mantra for some time, there is an apparent period of sleep difficiency (an inability to fall asleep).
Tip: remain in bed.

3. The body eventually falls asleep with a degree of mental stillness, providing for a conscious astral separation.
Tip: remain still to allow the separation to occur naturally (as it occurs everynight, although without the sleeper remaining conscious).

Note: Mantras should be done for days to weeks to really get sufficient results. They improve with practice, experiences becoming more frequent.

Thank you Job, the wave file helps. Especially with those rrrrrs  :-)

I think it's generous for Gnosis to make the mantras public as traditionally I think that mantras are given in private during initiation.

what do you think of these others that are associated?
EGIPTO , LARAS and TAIRÊRÊRÊRÊRÊ

Would you say them all together begining with FARAON?

I like the simplicity of FARON and it seems to be helping just on it's own.

Well, no.  Only in the Commercial Atmosphere set up by the New Age Profiteers, such as Maharaj Mahesh Yogi, have mantras been kept secret... like patents or copyrights.

But the famous and most useful Mantras have been public domain.

AUM... the simplest and most powerful of Mantras.

OM MANI PADME HUM  and its variations, the foremost of the Mahayana Buddhist Mantras

The Gayatri Mantra:

Aum Bhur Bhuvah Svah
Tat Savitur Varenyam
Bhargo Devasya Dhimahi
Dhiyo Yo Nah Prachodayat

As an aside, I had done the Gayatri for about a year and then had a Dream Vision of the space in front of me tearing open and out came the White Light that formed into an image of a Paramahansa Swan and it zapped into my forehead, and then reformed and again and again and again, zapped into my head, each time simplifying, from having been the most statueque ornate Swan to finally being a simple "V" -- the way a child would draw a flying bird -- as a "V" in the air.

So, no, one does not have to pay for some of the most powerful Mantras.

Oh, and there is that Japanese Buddhist Mantra... I don't think they charge for it.  A lady once told it to me on a bus as I was escaping from one Spiritual Ashram and heading toward another.  it was: Nam Myo Ho Ren Gay Kyo   ... If I remember correctly, but then again, I have not been able to 'search' it up.  But I would not entirely recommend it... it seem to be more than a bit linked to Japanese Shinto Nationalism -- the idea that Japan is the Chosen Nation of God and the remainder of the World destined to be their slaves.  Hmmmm, it makes one wonder who would win between a contest of Jews and Japs... like a child wondering about a fight between King Kong and Godzilla.

Oh, on a brighter note, one of the finest ladies of my acquaintance, Pat Aiken gave me a Lakshmi Mantra for family wellbeing and happiness and prosperity in the Home:

Om Im Rheem Shreem Kamala Vasani Yay Swaha  the "Im" pronounced like 'I'm'.

I once did that mantra in a Lucid Dream and found myself flying over these beatiful Alpine Mountain Likes or Lakes in the Kashmir, with houses built upon stilts over the water.  And I heard the this Mantra being chanted, apparently with my own voice.  I followed the sound and it brought me to a cage of Sparrows -- sparrows in a cage were chanting Om Im Rheem Shreem Kamala Vasani Yay Swaha.

Oh, more about that wonderful lady Pat Aiken, who had given me that Lakshmi Mantra, see above.

She had been a Muktananda Devotee.  Her India Visa had expired and she ran out of money and so back she went to America for awhile.  But Muktananda was getting old and took a turn for the worst and was dying.  But he asked for Pat.  Well, of course, she wasn't there, and those who knew where she was had an awful time to trying to reach her immediately.

Well, she was finally made aware that the Guru was dying and asking to see her, and so she begged and borrowed around for money and booked a flight and on her way she was.  She gets to India and takes a day to bump around in a taxicab and she finally arrives at the Ashram and is hurried in to see Muktananda.

He says "Pat, I've been waiting to see you."   and dies.

Strange story isn't it.

Hi iNNERvOYAGER,

Faraon is said on its own. I think Faraon is the most effective of the four, which is the reason why I posted it.

Leo Volont,

I don't post just any mantras or methods till I'm sure of the source. I posted faraon because it comes with a number of other proven methods and from a very competent author with an awakened conscious. Many of his methods have been tried by thousands, if not more, people and proven to be at least, substantially, effective.

The methods are used by a number  of different esoteric orders or schools--the leading among them being gnosticweb (which seems, so far as I have seen from snooping around, to be at the forefront of esoteric investigations). Notwithstanding, all of the schools seem to have limitations.

Regardless of that fact, it's also true that there are many pseudo-esoteric (false) orgnazitions that exist with the purpose of profit and calumny, being founded upon inexperienced adepts. These people (Robert Monroe being an exception) disseminate misleading information without pragmatic basis. I'm not saying that Monroe was neccessarily an adept of the white lode, only that his methods are founded upon proven experimentation. In other words, the mantras and methods given by the vast majority of esoteric-related organization have not been experimented with by a mass number of people to prove even the least signficant effectiveness (with the exception of gnosticweb).

Still, it's a sad thing. Even the most advanced organizations who have all the knowledge, only have a small bit. Still, compare these genuine esoteric organizations to the pseudo-esoterisists who might have "good intentions" but are nevertheless usually headed by aspirants who seek fame and glamour. Our world is pitifully poor so much as esoteric knowledge is concerned. Still, I think that people should focus more on pragmatics (the things that are actually real) and work toward spiritual and metaphysical experiences (again take gnosticweb)) than fame, glamour and pseudo-piety.

Sincere apologies to those who might have experienced a feeling of derision due to the contents of this post. Still, if only people can learn to work together (scientist included) being practical to discern seeming-metaphysical things about life.

This is very interesting and I've read about mantras before, but never actually tried any. And now as I read this thread, my curiosity has finally reached the point where I'm obligated to make a difference in this matter.
I have one question, though:

Do mantras have to be said out loud, or is it sufficient to speak them in your mind, only imagining the voice?

I'm currently in a position where repeating mantras would - depending on the time - wake someone up, or just annoy the heck out of them.  I could get in open air to find some quiet place, but that's not a good option, since it's starting to get a bit cold now as winter seems to have finally taken over autumn.

(Already gives me the shivers, when thinking about some 30 degrees below zero, which is to come at some point after the year has changed)
Never make any mistaeks.

Mantras for astral separation are said mentally (just like speaking to oneself mentally--no need to concentrate).

Sorry for the lack of information. The post has been edited to include "mentally".

David Warner

when I was active in exercise by running, situps, pushups, I would always recite to myself 1-2-3-4 I will astral project some more, or 5-6-7-8 I will reach the higher state and so on.

this within itself is a mantra, exercise and easily translates to programming the sub-conscious with intent and goals for obe's.

i never really go into the mantra's of the old..

I. E. O. U A aren't for the purpose of programming the subconscious. Rather, they are for bring stillness to subconscious thoughts and stimulating chakras.

The main purpose of meditation is the stillness of the mind, so that the result will be the penetration of the causal plane (the 6th dimension).

In this age of information, many people are finding "quick solutions" to "achieve their own enlightenment within the confines of everyday life". This is a pseudo concept because enlightenment isn't just something in which anyone can decide to attain, any given or ungiven day, with any amount of effort, not doing anything in particular.

More specifically, it's the extraction of essences from the multi-dimensional embodiment of the subconscious. Essences are causic (6th dimension) particles of light and life. The process of extraction takes a great amount of time, effort, and trial and error (probably most people who start never actually achieve it). One reason is that the subconscious, in the vast majority of people, is immensely massive.

In a sense, enlightenment is waging a war with oneself (though not truly...there is a lot to the "ego"). Also, the ego--the subconsciousness--is not atman...one's true emination.

Deciding to be enlightened does not make someone enlightened, nor does deciding that short phrases are mantras make them so. Enlightenment is an actual science and physical process: things are physically done (if not more than physically--meta-physically) to attain it.
