I can't get Robert Bruce's ROPE technique to work, I find it hard pulling myself up just like that.

What can I do, what other methods are there that work good for projection?

To put it simply, you're probably just trying too hard. Have a clear mind, and just imagine the rope technique without straining yourself. I don't remember who it was, but in a recent post one of our more seasoned members said something to the effect of 'nerves are not muscles, they do not work better if you strain them'. Its not a direct quote (so no getting angry =] ) but thats the jist of it.

Just a thought to keep in mind.

If I were to give in, would you think me weak?

Uh yeah I remember reading that myself.... Yeah  thanks anyways man =)

Thanks for the quick reply btw, but uh how should I set up my "program" to project?

Like,
1: Trance meditating in bed lying on my back for like 10-20 mins until I feel heavy ( Counting breaths, Ladder technique, Elbow thingy?)
2: ROPE technique / Counting breaths?

Now regarding point 1. How can I do the elbow technique and fall into trance, shouldn't I get paralyzed at this point? What's then benifitial with this technique?

Remember that the goal is to "go up".  The way to achieve it is not that important.  With the rope technique, you should focus on the raising sensation, and not on the details like arm movements, etc...  Just repeat over and over this raising sensation.  It's not the movement itself, it's the sensation that counts.  Also, my feet always go up first and the rest of the body follows.  Sometimes I am stuck at the head and I have to force a bit.

An alternative is to roll (not physically) on your side.  I've projected several times this way.  In fact, some kind of wind would often blow me out of my body from the side.

Some people reported that they projected by falling through their bed.

Another technique is to "visualize" yourself already out.  Visualize a copy of your body floating 2 meters above you.  Then try again and again to "shift yourself" (perspective/consciousness/...) in this floating body.  You are this second body.  You can see the ceiling from it; you can touch it.

Rinse and repeat...  Just remember that it takes some work and effort.

I have found rope to be excellant and very effective once astral sight has kicked in and i have awereness and mobility in my rtz arms, but very ineffective if im not in that deep a level trance. In my experience you already should have some working awareness of your rtz body to get rope to work.
If you will it it is no dream.

Yes, I've never experienced Astral Sight in the trance state yet although I have projected numerous times.
I have had some times in trance where I've had a few seconds of astral sight but it wouldn't last long.

So I guess I should work more on the trance state and raising energy and moving my astral arms.. etc

The rope technique didn't work for me either man.

I always get astral sight before I get out of my body then it's just a matter of putting my astral hands on my door and pulling myself free.  That seems the most effective way for me.
