I reacted badly

Hi all, I reacted badly.   What do you think of this?  I did not sleep first.   I was meditating and I felt a hand on my back.   I tried to physically call out but I was not able to.   I was trying to get away but I could not move.   I said, spiritually why are you doing this and who are you?   A male voice said, I am Peter.   I said I do not know you.   He said he knew me in a previous life.    I struggled for a short while and I was able to wake up.   I felt I reacted badly.   I should not have reacted like that.   Now that I am typing this, I remembered who Peter was.   Peter was my husband's brother who passed away two days ago on Friday.    It is a shame I am not able to tell my husband about this.   He does not believe in ap.    I was not asleep.   I was awake.

I'm sorry to hear about your brother in law passing.  :-(I assume that you may have had a good relationship with him since he initiated contact with you.

You simply reacted out of instinct so that can't be judged as right or wrong.

He probably knew that you were in a state in which you would be able to feel his touch so he wanted to get your attention. If anyone reacted wrong, it was Peter because he could have just as easily announced his presence first to give you the time to accept that someone was there with you.

It ain't what you don't know that gets you into trouble. It's what you know for sure that just ain't so.

I am sad to hear of your loss AstralSuzy!   :-(

AZ hit that on the head (as usual), many times in the NPR we do find ourselves acting out of pure instinct. Later we wonder why we reacted that way. It's kind of a fight or flight situation. Even the more experienced people with AP get this time and again.

We are Human first and so we react that way.

You're being way too generous. I'm full of BS just as often as I happen to make sense. :-D

Astralsuzy,

I think he chose to contact you because your husband's strong disbelief in this matter shuts him off to contact. So long as the subject isn't too taboo with your husband, I think you should consider telling him. He might find it comforting at a time when he needs it most but you what's best and I'll leave it at that.

My best regards to you and your family right now. :-) :-)

Thank you all for your replies.   I really appreciate it.   I now realise that I did not react  badly.   It was just a normal reaction.   If it happens again, I will be better prepared so I will handle it better.   I would like to tell my husband about it but unfortunately it would not achieve anything.    My husband thinks when you are dead you are dead.   That is the end of you.   I would never be able to convince him.   I have tried to in the past but I was not able to persuade him.

I hope you get another chance to communicate. You'd need to ask a question from their young days that was about something astoundingly bad. He'd not forget about it and perhaps your husband may be a little more open on the subject.
Sorry for the loss, it happens to us all eventually.
