Title: Conscious or Aware
Post by: Nameless on August 10, 2025, 13:48:26
It occurs to me that there is a lot of talk regarding consciousness. Consciousness or being conscious actually has a very simple definition. That is, 'to be aware of'.

So if you are aware then you are conscious and it is only natural that your actions and thoughts would be determined by what it is you are aware.Take the example of the coma patient who is said to be unconscious. How would anyone know that? Sure we have science and machines that can pick up on brain activity and more or less determine viable physicality of the brain and body functions but so far there is no way science or machines can follow consciousness.

My point and why it matters is simply to point out that no matter where you are (consciously) there you are. You might recognize that from a very simplistic quote often repeated although I have no idea whom to attribute. The quote, "No matter where I go, there I am"

The message I'm putting forth is that no matter what your own unique ability is, revel in it and let your glorious self shine.

It's okay and rather impressive to strive and learn new things but all to often we let the most impressive part of our being languish, somehow seeing it as not as good.

Become strong in your natural abilities for those abilities are what you were bred.

Hugs and Love and to you All.

(please feel free to add your own impressions and thoughts)

I have come to realize this later in life, but I remember when I was a teen I so wanted to look like one of the popular pop singers. I wanted my mom to cut my hair like hers, to dress like her, to mimic her manners. And my mom said to me  "you have to be your unique self, be proud of who you are, dont mimic someone else". I remember thinking "are you kidding me, she is so cool, and I am not, but I want to be". Well, that's the growth process I guess :)

Thinking about the overall awareness of consciousness, I've always wanted to know how a tree perceives, what a rock perceives, what a drop of water perceives, what an atom perceives. The diversity of consciousness is truly fascinating. But if you take us for example, our experiences and perception change every second. It's not a constant. It is ever changing forever and ever and ever, with no beginning and no end. Mind bending lol

We had a friend that died on the operating table twice. He was experiencing liver failure during that time. Years of heavy drinking caught up with him. Not only did he had health problems, he also had distanced himself from his kids and was divorced from his wife. People can only take so much, even Family.

When he came out of a short induced coma, he was visited by a Lady from the Minnesota University. She was doing research and a study on NDEs. Randy was very shy and he kept to himself. That was at least as long as you weren't talking about hunting and fishing. So, he never said anything.

Randy came home from the hospital as "changed man". He was different in many ways. The most important one being, he worked on fixing things that he broke. He was given I guess 5 years to do that because 5 years later, he died of a heart attack. Before that though, Randy would come over and help and share tips on gardening with my wife. Now Randy was the best friend of my wife's ex-husband, during a tough period. In the past my wife and Randy were not friends. That changed now too. She now called Randy the "new Randy" when talking to me about him. After about a year, Randy started to open up to us on what he really experienced. He said he lived as board in the wall in an older couple's home. During the night, he found himself in a bar listening to this table of Ladies that were always gossiping. During the day, he went back to being that 2X4 in the wall. He said it seemed like he was there for an eternity. He didn't have any control over it though.

At his funeral, I spoke to his Father and Sister that lived in Texas. I brought up the NDEs. They already knew of them. His Sister was supposed writing a book based on them. I gave her my address and asked, anxiously and gratefully if she would sell me a copy when it was done. Unfortunately, I have never heard from her again. That was about 7 years ago.
