so the method i've been trying is rather a popular one I think. Go to sleep, then once you're about wake, don't move a muscle. Right, so past 2 nights, I've been trying to do it, but when I wake up I always move my body and think to myself, why the hell did you do that, I was suppose to try and project! so I just ended up giving in and falling back asleep

Because that's probably one of the hardest things to do.
Doing this from normal sleep is very hard and requires a lot of pre-programming yourself as you fall asleep in order to realize you're waking up while you wake up.  Otherwise, you'll end up doing what you're doing and moving.  It's a normal reaction.  It's something you've done every morning of your life... you wake up, your eyes open and you move.  It's just how it is... that's STRONG programming to overcome.

This is a method I've been successful doing only twice ever while coming out of normal sleep.

USUALLY, I use this when coming out of a lucid or astral experience, because at that point I'm already aware and notice I'm waking up.

#1. Try using affirmations before you go to sleep based on your intended goals. Do it every night. Repetition is what makes affirmations so powerful.

#2. When I attempted this technique a couple of years ago, I found that if I accidently did move or open my eyes immediately upon awakening, that it didn't really matter, as long as I had that same level of grogginess, I could still use that technique. I would usually find myself back in the last Dream scenario I just came from. But, sometimes it would lead to a False Awakening as well.

But, if you think you messed it us and it won't work, it won't. Any doubt will knock you out!

Yes!  This is true for me.  Last week I woke up, rolled over, opened my eyes, stated a brief intention to go back into my dream, and I went right back in, lucid.  I definitely did maintain that level of grogginess.
