Sleeping in "too" comfortable a bed a hindrance?

I've noticed that the several genuine OBE's that I've experienced, I've always been on the couch. I've postulated that perhaps sleeping in "too" comfortable a bed might prevent one from reaching that "half asleep - half awake" realm that seems to be so conducive to projection.

Any thoughts on this?

Hi jub jub

I have found that my afternoon naps give me the most experiences.  However, this can be either on my recliner chair or in my bed.

I'm different to Major Tom in that just waking up is a prime time for me.

I have found that 'practicing' whilst falling asleep is beneficial - when staying on my back in bed.  I found it difficult to fall asleep on my back, so I would spend ages there, exploring the differing states/sensations until eventually sleep would come.

I would say that generally, being comfortable is important, and being unaware (not necessarily totally, but as much as possible) of your physical body is beneficial.

There is something (in my opinion) about relaxing not only the body (which is an art form in itself), but also in relaxing the mind.  This is not so easy, but over the years, I have found that 'pretending' you are water and simply 'going with the flow' tends to relax my mind.  Of course, this can lead to sleep (more often than not), but if one can remain 'mindful', great things can happen!

So, it's an individual thing and I thought as much from what I've been reading! As for me, it's not going to be as easy as falling off a log.

I guess it's time to tell the wife I'm moving into the guest room so I can increase my chances of projecting! I can't wait to see the look on the her face when I tell her! :nervous:

Thanks guys for your replies. I'm sure I'll have a lot more questions as I travel along my journey.  I appreciate your help and patience!
