Title: Do we have to have slept to begin APing?

 :?

Can one begin astral projection through meditation without having to have napped or waking in the middle of the night?

Definitely.

However, projecting through meditation is slightly harder and more time consuming as you have to learn to "meditate" first.  :)

But yeah, 100%.

Because you are fully conscious when meditating. Whereas the other ways you are already partially drowsy.

For example. Someone wakes you up out of a "REM" state. You are in a temporary state of delirium when coming out, at least until your brain starts fully processing your physical senses again. It is really easy to slip right back into a dreamworld.

The meditating "path," is more difficult because you are fully conscious of your exit into the astral. All internal senses are full throttle. This path is a double edge sword as you will have more control and awareness when you hit the astral. From what I understand, It will be easier to get to where you want to go because you have can adapt you intent easier.

In the drowsy approach you have to enter a dream state and have an partial Aha! moment and then piece you experience together while in there some together. In this approach you are intentionally dulling your senses to make the phasing process easier. You will be "drowsy when you hit the astral but as in the physical you will become aware decently fast.

They both have their pros and cons, but if you are beginning, the drowsy path is your best option since it will teach you the way there.

Agreed contento. I've always managed to enter via a "a ha!! im asleep!" approach.
Im sort of believing that if i was able to enter via meditation from awake, then the AP experience would have more clairty.  I've had some OBEs and Im not fully conciously aware during them.. I knew it was an OBE of sort, but woke up thinking.. yeah that was a bit rubbish!

I'd love to be able to enter from meditation. But thatsa very hard for me to do right now.
