Title: do you feel resistance when separating?
Post by: spirit walker on July 24, 2012, 11:05:41
When I try to separate by using that swaying motion that is often felt before AP, i feel resistance. I feel like i'm partially separated and it almost feels like my physical body is a magnet keeping my astral body from leaving. Should I force it with agressive action? Do any of you feel this? I will have to try harder next time! i'm so close!

I'm just starting out too so I can't really give advice on how to separate but I do feel the same. I feel like something wants to get out but just can't. My back arches up sometimes like it just won't come out. I'm trying to rewire 26 years of thinking my body and soul are both one in the same. It won't be easy. I think if you just keep pushing the limits with practice it will happen. Like learning to ride a bike. You keep falling down until something clicks and then you wonder why it was so hard to ever ride. I think you are very close like I am. Keep up the good work and it will happen.

Remember that in the astral, your navigator is your thoughts. Don't try to apply physical movement when attempting to separate. I too have felt the magnetic attraction sensation as well. Just THINK about a location, and that you are there, and next you will experience something like a teleportation.

Good idea, I will focus on visualization techniques instead. I woke up from a dream last night and I noticed that the darkness that I normally see when my eyes are closed was very bright. Almost like I was staring at the sun. I tried to shift my awarness but I fell asleep. Next time will be better!!!

I'm *very* new to all this, but I have definitely felt resistance.  Last night, my shoulder ached for a while after repeated attempts to separate by rolling out, as if it were anchoring me to the physical.

My plan for next time is twofold: 1) use thought as action more consciously, as LightBeam mentioned, and 2) be patient.  It could be different for you, but I got the distinct impression that this isn't something I can force.
