dreamworld astralworld = same thing?

I've always been kinda weirded out about astral travel as some "new dimension" though as more I read it just seems to be the dreamworld but your aware, is this right? So in fact everything you see is created by you?from you?...so in reality theres nothing really to fear except fear itself maybe.

So I could think of astral traveling as any lucid dreams ive had where I was aware I was sleeping?

I haven't tried really to astral travel only once, after waking up late at night....had a big zipper rip sound in my head and some knocking on my skull, but didnt go anywhere.
