I read the article above and it makes me think about Robert Monroe when he said after visiting wonderful beings and scenery how he was depressed for a long time, I've also read of other accounts like that. I'm so glad that I have been able to learn and experience AP's and even if it was only a few seconds I know I can actually experience a wonderful world outside of this reality.

Anyone ever visited a place somewhat like avatar?

Yet, these people seem not to realise far more beautiful 'realities' are a part of their consciousness but it is the ignorance that holds their hand from adjusting the frequency of perceiving.

You are right, we are capable of creating far more beautiful realities, I hope I can get to that point.

If you read a bit more about Robert Monroe, you would have found out WHY he was depressed.
He was depressed because he lost a certain 'entity' from his life that he wouldn't be able to contact again for a very, VERY long time.

There was another episode where he 'returned home' only to find out why he had left in the first place... depression sunk in there because he realized that he would never really ever fit in 'home' again.

Ok, now back to the post...
I'm not too surprised, a small segment of the population is NUTS.

It's mostly adolescents going to see it, especially those that go multiple times. Nearly everything is depressing to teens.

I don't know what's more disturbing: That people are letting a movie dictate their feelings or that there are support groups for movies that depress.

I'm sure the media is making it sound greater than it really is though. It probably will generate more revenue for the flick.

I can't belive the news was on TV today.
I think the depression they they have is more like the sadness I feel when I finish reading a really, really good book that has a sad ending, or when a character dies or the bad feeling I get when I'm on the last pages of a great book and I'm like"I want more, it can't end now "
It's the lack of imagination of some teenagers/people that really haven't read anything till now and when they see something that plays with their imagination they just can't take it to much.

Movies don't depress people on their own - they bring out already-present emotions. If you're unable to feel these things, that's something worse than depression.

I felt some strong emotions from it, but not depression. It's more of a reality check. And I agree, people are too ignorant to realize how trapped they are, and how they can free themselves. I feel inspired from that movie.

Also, did anyone pick up on some of the interesting themes from the movie. Like being connected more with eachother, the earth, the past, the future and nature? Crazy concept for me, and I love it. Also, did you notice what the tree of souls area looked like from a complete aerial perspective? It turned up to be a big EYE! I loved that movie through and through!!

"the bond" as they call it. I think we already have that we just don't realize it and lose it with time and influence by others. When I was little I had some sort of "bond" like that (at that time I could feel there was a connection), I would talk to animals and plants, I was also in some way fearless, I could take spiders in my hands, I had a really big dog and I was the only one who was able to put my hand in his mouth when a bone got stuck in his mouth and caused him a lot of pain, stuff like that, so my cousins and some other relatives started saying that I was an autistic for doing such things. I don't know at what point I lost/became unconscious of that connection, suddenly I became fearful of many things I used to do naturally (I can't recall exactly because my mind blocked many things of my childhood) I really wish I had never gotten far from that "connection" just a year ago I found out that a connection does exist in everyone "the oneness" with all things.
