Title: Feeling featherlight as I meditate - What is that?
Post by: APGuy on November 21, 2003, 14:12:31
I know that weightless feeling.  For me I don't feel it untill I move.  I think you might be feeling your etheric double which would mean that you were at pre-exit meditation.  From here on you would try an exit method like willing yourself to fly or rolling out.  At least that's what it seems like to me.  Have you OOBEd yet?

I'm not sure what that is... but it feels good.

It sounds as if you have some energy body activity and/or pre-obe sensations going on. Take a look at Robert Bruce's treatise on NEW Energy Ways as well as his treatise on obe. Additionally, if you haven't already, you might want to read Astral Dynamics as well.

Here are some links for you:

Hello,
APGUY, I have had only one situation where my feet, arms and head were out of my body (floating up into the air). The rest of me was stuck (middle torso). If you would consider that an O.B.E., than yes, I have had one. I usually get major vibrations (aound the crown and third eye chakra) when I'm on the verge of leaving. I also experience myself being pulled out without trying to do so. From your guys opinions, I have a feeling that what I'm experiencing is on the lines of pre-obe sensations (big smile!). Thanks Nick, I have purchased Astral Dynamics (awesome) but I'm only 150 pages into it. I didn't want to spoil the book looking around for the answer to what I'm feeling. So instead, I posted online. Perhaps I should finish the book and then if I have any further questions I will then come forward...teehee.

Thanks again,

Blue Giant

Hi Blue Giant:

The stage of Meditation that you are discrbing is HYPNOIDAL or Light Hypnosis. (Alpha Level)Ware one as the feeling of being slightly detached (floating or sinking). All of my subjects or clients go through the same experience.

Some also have the feeling of having to minds one out side of themselfs while still in the physical body.

I have a good script (Hypnosis) that can send you even deeper. Here is the levels of hypnosis.

System of Walter Sichort:

INSUSCEPTIBILITY :    0.

HYPNOIDAL :       1.    Closing of the eyes
               2.   Fluttering of the eyes
               3.   Swallowing
               4.   Relaxation
          5.   Deeper relaxation
          6.   Complete physical relaxation

LIGHT STATE OF           7.   Eye catalepsy
RELAXATION :             8.   Limb catalepsy
                        9.   Body catalepsy (body rigid)
                       10.   Light anesthesia (glove)

MEDIUM STATE OF         11.   Partial amnesia
RELAXATION :           12.   Posthypnotic anesthesia
                       13.   Posthypnotic suggestions (simple)
         14.   Personality changes
         15.   Change feeling (hot-cold)
                       16.   Delusions (false belief, ignorance of actual facts)

SOMNAMBULISTIC          17.   Posthypnotic amnesia
STATE :              18.   Eyes open while in deep hypnosis
                       19.   Bizarre posthypnotic suggestions
                       20.   Complete state of somnambulism
                       21.   Positive visual hallucinations (posthypnotic sense
                               of seeing)
                       22.   Positive auditory hallucinations
                              (posthypnotic sense of hearing)
                       23.   Spontaneous amnesia (no recall of suggestions or
                               actions while in hypnosis)
                       24.   Hyper aesthesia (extreme sharpness of the senses)
                       25.   Negative visual hallucinations (sense of seeing)
                       26.   Negative auditory hallucinations (sense of hearing)

ESDAILE STATE :           27.   The body very flaccid - will not respond to physical
                               Suggestions

CATATONIC
STATE :                28.   A non suggested state after a true Esdaile State the
body can be put in any position and can remain
that way for long periods of time.  Resembles
rigidity but the muscles are not flexed.

SICHORT STATE          29.   State of extreme flaccidity (discovered by Walter
(continues REM)              (Sichort).  In the Sichort State the body is
completely anesthetized for minor or major
surgery.  There is no recall of what has been said or
done after coming out of this state, and recall
cannot be given back.  Subjects experience complete
time distortion, eight hours seem like minutes.  The
Sichort State is, or at least resembles REM sleep,
but is safer than normal sleep; in any emergency
            subjects will come out spontaneously.

Sincerely,
Frank Mulley A. Ht.

When I begin to meditate and do it for about 15 to 20 minutes I feel a fluctuation within my energy body. It hits like a soft wave and then gives me the feeling like I'm weightless. It as though I can feel a hovering effect all around me. There are no heavy vibrations present, but the feeling of being made of silk. The feeling is not targeted to one specific area. I can feel it throughout my whole body. Is this the so called etheric double? What stage of meditation is this? Where would one go from here on?
