Hi everyone, 1st post here so nice to meet you all :)

I`ll make this brief.
I have been trying to project for some years now with only 1-2 minor experiences.
Well this morning I came home after a night shift, got into bed and started to relax when I heard a bit of banging coming from outside.
I got out of bed to have a look and saw it was the neighbour going to work.
Anyway, I got back into bed, got comfy and started to drift off to sleep.
Within 2-3 minutes I woke up in a state of sleep paralysis, fully conscious though.
So completely understanding of the state I was in, and completely fearless and at peace, I seized the opportunity to try and project.
I laid their and focused on a green candle I have at the side of my bed when I started to enter a vibrational state.
It sounded like I was on a jet that was winding up, getting louder and louder the more I began to focus on the candle.
I was tempted to try and physically open my eyes to see the candle but instead focused on the candle itself.
Well after a short while the noise got louder and louder and then I started to see the candle and its surroundings as they were in the room, just slightly darker than normal, then I felt myself slowly zooming towards the candle whilst the noise became more intense. Then all of a sudden I felt a small jerk and became instantly as light as a feather.
This was the point I knew I was out :) :) :) :) :)
so the first thing I wanted to do was try and jump.
I simply thought about jumping and floating and thats exactly what happened :)
I drifted slowly upwards to the ceiling then started to go through the ceiling into the attic.
The attic was much brighter then the bedroom and I noticed that the cobwebs where illuminated by the brightness.
Once I got to the roof of the house it was like a barrier then bounced me back downwards into the bedroom.
So at this point I was finding it hard to contain my excitement.
I then thought to myself "I want to go to Egypt" :)
So I proceeded to drift towards the window.
As I got near the window, I could see my reflection and I looked generally nicer than I see myself in the physical realm.
I passed through the window and out onto the street at which point everything went very very dark and I instantly found myself back in my body and coming round.
I reflected on the experience straight away and tried to asses if it had really just happened.
and although the memory of it faded from reality to that of a dream I am completely convinced that I finally achieved an OBE :) :) :) :) :) :)

OK, so that wasn't brief and I apologise but I`m just so excited now :)

The purpose of this post was to let people know of my experience but to also call out to the more advanced projectors for advice and opinions on the experience.

Could anyone explain to me why the house was acting like a barrier and when I went outside it was completely dark?

Does this sound like an OBE or a lucid dream?
I was 100% conscious during the entire experience.

Many thanks to anyone who takes the time to read and reply

OBE or Lucid you ask?

I think you already know the answer to that question. And whether or not it was "just" a lucid dream, it really makes no difference.

Congrats!

Walking through long "locked" doors is an amazing feeling!

I think its interesting that you saw your reflection. After 4 years, I still have yet to see what I look like while I'm out and about.
Leaning over
Crawling up
Stumbling all around
Losing my place
Only to find I've come full circle.

Well, it was definately more real than lucid.

I had another more dream like expirience a few years ago when I saw myself in a mirror.
My face was all distorted and cloudy.

I wonder if the reflection was partly my mind filling in the blanks, dunno.
The strange thing was the room was dark but the reflection was mildly illuminated, as if someone was holding a torch underneath my face??

Hi grid

The difference between a lucid dream and an OBE is --- in a lucid dream you KNOW that you are dreaming and in an OBE you KNOW that you are out of your physical body. So..... that said...congratulations on your out of body experience (and thanx for posting it here btw).

The only person who is sure that it was an OBE (or a lucid dream) is YOU.. So You tell Us, was it an OBE or was it a lucid dream. This question may seem abrupt but the final say-so is yours.

Many people experience an OBE yet never fully realize what their experience was and end up questioning whether it was an OBE or a LD. The BIG quantum leap in consciousness is discerning a lucid dream from an out of body experience. There Is a difference between the two and it is a VERY BIG difference (despite what some people on this forum claim).

Your account of this experience (to my mind) strongly describes it as an out of body experience. Yet you must be the final arbiter of what you experienced.
Good luck with future OBEs

Congrats grid_love!  :-D You seem to have had a classic first time OBE experience. Things can only get better from here on out!

Do you do energy work of any sort at all?
