It does appear quite valid to say that Banishing can assist your entry into the Astral Plane.  When you are banishing with extreme force, without the negative situation of empowering that manifestation, you can consciously dissolve your perception of physical reality.  It is like being in a holochamber with psionic controls.  You adjust and materialize one reality, and can also dissolve and negate.  The physical body, with it's seven chakra and six senses, can become a new template for similar experience, or, through base parameter modification, it can become an entirely different entity.  The level of reality which is achieved by Banishing can be verging on absolute, to the point that the accused holochamber would not even exist.

While that might sound like a load of science fiction, it is apparent that the physical body is designed in such a way as that the body lives until it exhausts itself.  Likewise, you can exhaust your body in the same way with repeated, continuous banishing.  When you have banishing as your primary tool, you both and at the same time return reality to it's spiritual state while your body becomes spectral, as though your body was the holomatrix.  As you develop your power in banishing, you can begin to coordinate astral journies that last for perpetual moments of the temporal gradient.  So banishing is an important skill that means you have the ability to control your state of reality.

Those states of reality can be said to be Divine, Eternal, Astral, and Cosmic, with a final as being Celestial.  Love, Courage, Hope, Perserverance, Trust, and Liberty seem to be the primary motivations for developing a relationship with the better powers of All Possibility.  Casting Magick is not always the goal, the goal could simply be to banish until you have submersed yourself in the astral so deep that it becomes netheral, and then it is a different type of reality.  That type is the pure Spectral reality, which is basically the astral, yet, with enough cosmic potential that it exists perpetually at the core fulcrum of all existence.  Those journies into the deep of the spectral are often ones which mean that you are almost returned to the Eternal Realm, which is timeless and holy.  The Spectral falls between the Astral and Eternal, but also, between the Astral and the Cosmic.  That's according to my figuring, you let me know what you think about it.
