If someone is able to project perfectly well without one, what is the point of a float tank?
As with any tool, they simply assist you in making the process slightly easier.
If you don't need a tool, don't use a tool. :)

A new Experience! :-)
Exploration from a different angle or tool as Xanth says.
I use and have used many different techniques and tools. I can't to add a "Float Tank" to my list!
No one really knows what the limits, if there are any, to projecting. Float tanks are another means of pushing the boundaries.
I've only used binaural beats a few times but the last time that I did, I felt the "vibrations" more intensely than I ever had before. This got me excited and made for an amazing experience.
I have no current interests in using any aids or tools but I absolutely encourage others to use them if they wish. Some people use them to have their "break through" experience while others use it to push their limits. That's all.

I looked at your question and can see it asked another respect as well.
The point of Float Tank is to create a relaxing experience where you lose complete focus on your physical body and for that this reality in general.
This is created by having you kind of float in device/tank in a mixture of salt and water. This then that takes away all physical bodily feelings.
In most cases the tanks will have built in speakers and they use relaxing sounds/music to consume your thoughts and steer you towards a NPR adventure.
Okay cool thanks for replies everyone, nice to know I'm not missing out on something(that cant be achieved without) just because I don't have
the money to pay 60$ an hour to float. Although I'm sure it's an awesome experience and I'll probably try it out in the future!
