Buddhism is one of those religions where you take what you need and leave the rest. That's what I do. You are welcomed to take the full trip but it's very good to make room for your own explorations and your own spiritual creativity. In fact, once you get into Buddhism and start understanding what it is that they are talking about... well that's exactly what they're talking about. "Take what you need leave the rest."

That's why I'm an artist first and a Buddhist second.

If I were to critize Buddhism it would be that it's rooted in too much Eastern symbolism. I mean it does have its roots in India. The people there where rugged, very Earthy people, with not much to live for.  I think that's why it flourishes in those countries. People have less hope and much more pain to deal with.

Here where I live we have TV, computers, comfy sofas, Coca-Cola... pain isn't such an issue.

"So take what you need." One of the great slogans of Buddhism.
"Unbinding the limits on our Soul is man's truest quest."
