well about the 'full with food' part, yes its true.when i fasted for some days its was ten times easier to project. then i ate and tried, and it was just to hard...maybe your body needs your double to digest food, or something...?
live forever or die trying

Alkrein

yeah, the full thing seems the most plausible, but I want to know about the others

I also wanted to add the question if allowing yourself to feel emotions in astral instantly drags you back to your body

SmileySpirit14

do you mean 'if you feel an emotion then youll get sent back to your body?'?? everyone has an emotion no matter what time it is...so i dont think emotions matter...well while your trying to project it can matter: like if u feel scared or doubt or stress, but while u are projecting, i dont think it matters what emotion you feel

I am the sort of person who really only says things based on experience- so I can't say much can I?[;)]
Sex make AP harder? As far as I have read and been told it's supposed to do more good than harm.  Supposed to relax you.  There's a bit in AD on it.  Medication make AP harder?  Depends what you are on.  I guess there are those that would inhibit, those that wouldn't, and perhaps the rare ones that enhance? I am on several, but I don't have much with which to make a comparison initially.  Only a marked decrease in WP.  Hope I helped maybe a little?

álainn dorcha - are you able / have you been able to AP at all so far?

When i say medication, I'm meaning mainly antidepressants etc.

Hiya Alkrein,

To be honest, I am not really working much on AP at the moment, but I had my one and only OBE on medication.  If I use that and waking paralysis (plus those suspiscious lucid dreams[;)]) as a guide, I wouldn't think taking SSRI's/SNRI's would inhibit your ability to AP at all(I have not taken MAOI before). Same antidepressants related to tricyclics can make you drowsy- which can be a problem. But I am no pharmacist, nor seasoned astral projector, this is just personal experience, and probably not very helpful.

You say "antidepressants etc..." perhaps your preoblem lies in the etc?  If you are taking much in the way of sedatives/anxiolytics/traquilizers- anything that makes you too drowsy,  well theres always the problem of falling asleep.  I know that sounds obvious, but I thought I might mention it, it didn't click for me until I started reading your post!  Hope I could help in some small way.

P.S. I have yet to take a drug that has affected my ability to use NEW.

I wanted to know if it is true that it is harder to achieve astral projection when:
-full with food
-having masturbated or had sex recently
-or on medication

I've heard it is, but I wanted to make sure. They all seem kind of silly when I think about them in some ways...
