I guess I'm trying the phasing method. I have been reading up on projections and find them very interesting. I find the theory interesting that the consciousness lives on as the human body dies and the whole astral planes. I can't wait to experience it.

Anyway, I usually lay down and relax completely close my eyes and try to focus on a shape or something similar to focus my mind. I occasionally get a tingling feeling in my hands and feet and my legs. Are these the vibrations people are talking about. I always assumed it was something more intense. It only happened to me once, but I could have swore I was starting to see through my eyelids and saw the face of someone and some hands or something similar. I could have sworn that I felt some of my body raising up while others were stuck.

I guess what I'm really trying to ask is, are the tingling vibrations, should I do charka exercises to open them up, and any other tips? thanks.

Hi Ibanez,

Welcome to the forums :)

If you've not been there yet, I thoroughly recommend havng a read in the Astral FAQ section.
There are a lot of great people here with a wealth of experience, so use the search engine on the site too. More often than not you'll find something to help you out.

All the best,

Steve

Ibanez, first of all, where are you from ? Ibanez is "IbaƱez" ? Just curious about that
I'm EXACTLY as the same point where you are. And I mean it: EXACTLY.
However, I have one full Spontaneous projection and I could feel the "real" vibes that you can hear from a bunch of projectors.
Let me tell you that they say that you don't need the Vibes at all in order to project. Here's my experience....
Practicing since May 8Th, a lot of times I could feel a tingling, and vibes and things like that ... but one day, I woke up in the middle of the night because of HEAVY sounds that seemed to came from a BIG Storm. "Puuum !!" ... at the same time my body was vibrating as if I were inside of a tornado. And trust me, they felt exactly like that. No tingling, it was like being inside a washing machine ... At that moment, I remember to stay calm and wait, but the Vibes were so damn strong and the sounds like BANGS of guns ... I didn't want to lose my chance to project so I managed to stay calm and two or three seconds later, PUM !!! I terrible sound and a feeling like being shot from a cannon ...
Well, what I did in that projection is already posted so I want repeat everything here, but let me tell you that those "Vibes" where SO different to the tingling that I feel when I try to project at will.
So, a lot of guys here (with much more experience than myself) say that you don't need the Vibes at all in order to project, but what I can tell you is that the tingling is totally different that the Vibes you feel when they are really there. Trust me, you will note the difference if that happens. And by the way, don't worry if you never get them, a lot of people project without even feeling the tingling that you mention...
About the face and the hand that you saw, I saw EXACTLY the same a few weeks ago. And it wasn't my imagination, that was reaaaaally vivid...

Cheers,
Magic.

If you ask me, the core of the different practices, and the techniques (which suck major if you ask me), is to just get your mind so intimately preoccupied. You distract yourself in a way where you forget the outside completely, and are enveloped in whatever is in your head. So in other words, you won't feel things on the outside unless you make yourself feel them.

The best form of doing this, is to just take a good looooong strech of time to just relax, chill, and let your mind settle. We spend our day completely taxing our senses with all kinds of different things, you need a little down time so that you're not jumping at the smallest stimuli. Seriously, 30 minutes minimum with no goals or intentions. Then, just get lost in your head. The difference between this and sleep is you're active in it.

You probably won't get it the first time, or the second time, or a few other times. There's a price, and that's streight out practice. If you have the patience, the doors will be opened for you.
As it as written, now and forever shall be. In the name of the Stevo, amen.

No.

Trust me, you will know when you get the vibes.

yeah, it's been a while and all. I really haven't gotten a chance to relax and try again. Busy with college and trying to find an olympic coach.

Work is dying down though and finals are coming up which will be a grump, oh well.
