Title: How close was I? How shall I improve?
Post by: Sourzu on March 17, 2011, 05:08:56
Uhm, I was just wonder if this 'WILD' method is just Lucid dreaming? So idk where I shall I place this thread, but my main goal is Astral, which I've read can be followed after a Lucid. Anyway:

So, yesterday I was going to try the WILD method for 2nd time (and secound day).
Around 21:45 I was drinking milk and read/repeated some at LD4all's guide where I learned me loads.
At 22:00 I went on an IRC chat and there was a couple of people there. I asked for tips of what I should imaginate/fantasize about.
Got tips that I should think of some important question for my spirit guide. And I also got a link to a "Help for beginners" thread.
I went off and took a fast shower, then I went back to my room and drinked some water and thinked that I'll remember my dreams tonight.
Made also some reality checks (as I'd done a couple of times under the day).

When I was at bed I sat on my pillow and tried out some meditation. I was deep breathing and tried to pass all thought in my head and just focus on the breathing. I felt that it didn't work so well so I just tried to make up a random mantra
Anyway, I felt pretty relaxed after 5 minutes.
I laid down on my back and putted my arms on the side of me.  Then I started to breath deep and started to cound "1 - I'm dreaming. 2 - I'm dreaming... and so on", I counted everytime I breath out, until I'd count to 40.
Tensed my feet muscles some in my in-breath and relaxed on the out-breath, tried to do that with so many body parts as possible.

I kept on counting and after a while I started to feel more and more paralyzed. I kept on breathing and counting. But I also got pretty much in my mind, about for how long I should be doing this and if I might already be in my Astral body.
I tried to imaginate me flying up, sinking down under the bed and walked downstairs. But I didn't feel anything.
Then I imaginated myself in the kitchen and was thinking of all the stuffs we got there.

Sometime under all my thoughts and imaginates I had, I felt like I got hit softly by a book in my head or something.
It happened like 2-3 times and it was like on the top of my head.

I kept on imaginate and thought that I may be in my Astral body now, but I first wanted to try something.
So I still had my eyes closed and imaginated that I was in my bed, but was placed in the space and that I'd planets all over the sky.
I opened my eyes but I just saw my room. I closed my eyes and tried again but nothing happened again.

My body felt really paralyzed and it felt like I'd been waiting for a while already.
So I thought of roll out of bed, I was just scared in case if I'm not in Astral it might hurt abit.
But I rolled out and landed on my bed rug/cover/blanket (or what it's called in English).
I looked up and didn't saw myself in bed and thought that I'm in my physic body.
Standed up and I really felt how tired my legs were, almost hard to stand.
I made some reality checks (poked my finger into the hand), but I was in my physic body.
Watched the clock, I'd been tried to become Astral in bed for about 30 minutes.

I went out from my room and went to toilet, turned on the light and it was all normal.
Had a pee and went back to bed for another try.

I got abit paralyzed, but not as much as the last one.
I don't know, but somehow I fell asleep after a while.

I'd put clock at 6am, so I woke up and turned it off.
I was supposed to go up and stay awake for a while and then do WBTB method.
But instead I just went back to bed and fell asleep fast.

I'd a dream and had no idea that I was dreaming.

I woke up, and stayed in bed and just let my mind flow, thought abit of the dream.
Then I went out of bed and wrote down everything I remember from the dream.

Now I wonder how close I may have been? and how I can improve the success. Maybe I did something that I shouldn't have done or maybe something that I should have done?

Also I thought that I'll see the space etc if I just imaginate it, is that true? I've really no idea.
Also will I see my physical body if I'm astral and rolled out of bed?

[edit] I also wonder if it's better if I'm more awake? (like before or after dinner time)
Does it also work better if I've been at gym training some, if my body gets really tired?

I thought of buy a book named "A Course in Astral Travel and Dreams" by Belzebuub.
Someone who have read that book? May this book be good?

[edit #2] Oh! I forgot to tell that when I also was laying down beeing paralyzed, I felt a muscle on my left foots heel that was like draging in me. I thought that this is maybe those signals where the body tries to see if my mind is awake or not.
When this happened I just tried to stay relaxed and think that I'm dreaming.

[edit #3] Oh, I also forgot to tell that I tried to feel the energy comming from my feet to my head when I breath in and from head to feet when I breath out.
I actually tried to combinate everything: the counting and breathing and the energy. But it was kinda hard to do also.

Hi there Sourzu,

Let's deal with your first question, because it really is the biggest one you've asked.  It's also the one that will provide you with the most growth. ;)

What most people call a "WILD" (wake induced lucid dream), I know it as "Phasing" (http://www.astralpulse.com/frankkepple.html).  It's the process of initiating a smooth (or semi-smooth) transition of your consciousness from "here" (the physical) to "there" (the non-physical).  Falling asleep at night and dreaming is an unconscious version of this.

If your goal is to go to "the astral"... my opinion is that you go there each night you dream.  For that is WHERE dreams occur.  It's also where we have what we call lucid dreams and astral projection.  With that said, what you're really asking is "How do I visit the non-physical and retain my waking awareness while I'm there?"

Well, that IS the big question... and is why you're here.  :)

Think about that in the context of the experiences you relay.
