I prefer to stay away from the "climbing out of the body" technique. It seems to put too much focus on the physical body for my liking. Listen to this video starting at 1:07:00, it explains the Out of the Body topic to perfection. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lRar8IOwic8&feature=BFa&list=PLEB923BB17E5849A3 If you still wish to try the rope here is a link to help you learn more about it and other "out of the body" techs. It is beneficial in the end to become proficient in different techniques that help with achieving the same goal. http://www.astralpulse.com/forums/welcome_to_out_of_body_experiences/a_beginners_guide_to_vibrations-t27154.0.html

The times I've successfully used the rope technique, I just kept climbing and climbing and eventually either vibes would start on their own or I would just shift awareness and be ready for an exit. Until then, you just keep on climbing.

You can still use the "out of the body" techniques. I just wanted you to see that you are out of the body already. You just need to change your focus to project. That second link I gave you had a number of "out of the body" techniques. Whatever it takes to lose focus on the physical will work. Whether it's meditation, noticing, visualization, music. You need to experiment and find what works for you. What you are comfortable with.

There are two ways to help you get out with rope.
The first one is to realize it's not an imagination technique, it's a remembering technique.  So if you dont' remember what it is to go up a rope, find one, go up one, and do it enough times that you get the feel of it.
Then when trying your exit you will have more of an impact on your energy body.
2- Don't use rope to get in trance- use noticing and energy body loosening before you have symptoms, wait to get them, and then do your exit technique.
If you have anything happen while you're pulling (noises, feeling of weight, etc.) ignore them and keep pulling.  Don't stop pulling until you're exhausted or feel completely awake.  If you feel awake, don't roll over and go to sleep, get up and walk around.
