Hi all, I was reading about phasing and what it is.  You first see the blackness when your eyes are closed.  You keep looking until you see a flicker of light or something similar.  An indication that you are getting close to astral projection.  The method sounds very good.  How do you go with this technique?  Do you have a lot of successes?  I tried it once, but I tried at the worst time.  I tried late at night and of course, I fell asleep.

Hi Suzy, I use it daily and it works fantastic. There are a number of ways you can do it. You can just passively notice shapes and images in front of you into they become actual full fledged scenarios. You can jumpstart it by playing with visuals. One of my favorites was creating a spinning top and just watching it, sometimes it would morph into a ballroom dance scene, sometimes the top would change sizes, colors etc. You could also Phase by background sounds. Phasing is basically turning the physical off and the NPR on. It really is that easy. You to learn to relax, release, let go!  :-)
Once your physical focus is gone, there's only the NPR left!  :-)
Here is an excellent post here written by a well educated former member who was very well received.  http://www.astralpulse.com/forums/welcome_to_the_astral_faq/what_is_phasing_and_how_can_i_do_it-t17413.0.html

Thank you Lionheart.  That was very interesting.  It might sound strange but I do not seem to have the patients to try and notice things.  I can meditate for a long time without a problem.  Perhaps it comes down to practice.  I could start off by 10 minutes then gradually increasing the time.

Noticing focuses your mind.
Meditation is focusing your mind.

You already know how to do both.  :-)

You are right Xanth.  Thanks for reassuring me.  The reason is probably because I do not want to make the effort to do it.  I am going to try to make the effort.  I think it will be worth it.
