Hi all, someone said to me that tai chi is better than meditation as it is more relaxing.  With tai chi you are doing gentle movements as well as meditating.  Would tai chi be more of a help with ap?  I am thinking about doing it but I am not sure.  What do you think?  Thanks for your replies.

It might help you even if it has never helped another person. I know this doesn't sound helpful but I'm just trying to illustrate the point that we are all different and succeed in different ways.

But I'm glad you're thinking outside the box on this. Good Luck.

Tai Chi would be great actually.

It would help you centre yourself ready for inducing. It is an ancient form, so, trust it. The same goes for Yoga.

Tai Chi would also help with the actual experiences I imagine... again for focus and the energy of 'chi'... although I say 'chi' in the way that it would help you build a metaphor for energy creation... if your belief pattern and logic requires an energy system with which to operate nonphysically.

Thanks for the suggestion.  I have decided I will try it.  Time will tell if it really helps me or not.  If it does not help me, it might help me in other ways.

I think anything that would help develop mental discipline wouldn't hurt. And get a healthy mind and body to boot!

I must really be a cave man because I thought tai chi was a form of martial arts...Yes sir, tai chi is really out side the box since no intense meditation could possibly help AP.

Tai Chi *IS* a martial art.  It's just not generally regarded as such anymore.

In regards to using Tai Chi to help with Astral Projection... realize that Tai Chi is just another "tool".  You don't need it and it will only help you if you believe it will help you and you put enough Intent towards that.

This reminds me of when I was much younger, shopping around for a martial art to train.  I had chosen Yoshinkan Aikido.  I went to the dojo nearby to watch a class... I had read lots about how it was a martial art that had much connection with spirituality and growing spiritually.  I was sitting watching the class and the Sensei came over to talk with me.  He asked me if I had any questions... I asked about the spiritual side of it, because at the time I had many preconceived notions about what exactly spirituality was.

I asked him, "Where is the spiritual training?"
He replied, "It's all spiritual training."

Now, at the time I was COMPLETELY and UTTERLY baffled by his answer, as I didn't see what I thought was spiritual in any of what they were doing.  I just nodded in agreement and joined anyway, cause it looked all fun.  lol

Now, after many years of Aikido and many other spiritual pursuits, I've come to realize what he meant.
I've also come to realize how all of this ties into stuff like meditation and astral projection... and know this: You don't need ANYTHING extra besides a healthy Intent to help you to astral project.

Thanks Xanth, I appreciate it.  I probably will not do tai chi to ap as I do not need it.  If I do do tai chi it will be because I want to do it and I will enjoy it.

Yup!  That's a good start.
You'll probably very quickly realize the spiritual connection to what you're doing though.  :)

I have always wanted to learn a martial art... Ended up in girl scouts. @_@ But I do like to think that Girl Scouts made me much stronger. (the bullies were nightmares)
