How to see a friend before ap

Hi all, How do I see a friend before I ap?   Do I say I am with that person now?   I keep saying the name of the person until I ap or do I think about the person?   I am not able to visualise very well so I may not see the correct person.  Perhaps it does not matter because my inner self will know who the person is.  Any help will be greatly appreciated.   I thought if I can go wherever I want to go to that would be better ending up all over the place and trying to reach my destination.

It helps if you know the person really well. If its arranged with them you also can find out their exact location. Its good to know the location well too.
The more info you have and expect to see the better. Its still no guarantee, a thought thats amiss will also affect your destinations result. If you are familiar with their mannerisms and personality use this too. The ideal situation is where there is a life or death condition around. This imprints a deep suggestion in the subconcious and I've used this on few occasions with 100% results.
Normally before this I've 'seen' something thats going to happen so the imprint is very strong to start with.
The ambience around the person when you're with them also helps greatly. The feel of this directs you more than knowing them and the location they are in.
It's the way it appears to work, its non physical and the rules of the physical are useful but not the best. Desire, need and fear all are big in this. ( fear being a concern for them).

Thanks for that  Szaxx.  Your information has helped me.   I realise that when I step out of my body, it is a lot easier to have intent to go somewhere or see someone than being already in the astral and trying to see someone.  I thought about this today.  It was about a few weeks ago.  I stepped out of my body and I said I am flying and I am with a certain person.  I was high up in the sky with my friend but I was too focused on looking at the scenery to talk much to my friend.  I did ask her a question and I got an answer.   I suppose it should not make any difference.  I should be able to travel or see someone when I am in the astral.  I used to be able to do it.  I think it is because I have a doubt and perhaps that is why I am finding it hard.  I say to myself I can see anyone I want and to go anywhere I want to, to get confidence.   I will let you know how it goes.
