I must get out of my body, help?

So I've been trying to astral project for awhile now, going through periods of seriously trying, casually trying, or not trying at all. This has lasted about 2 years.. But now I feel I'm emotionally/spiritually/mentally ready to get out. I feel I have so much I need to do out there, mostly I want to help people in some way. That's really the main thing I'd like to do after getting out. So many people suffer alone, and if I can kind of be there for people in any way, I must do that. Of course, I don't know if what I'm imagining is possible, but I'd find out after getting out. I'm aware of the techniques that there are on the internet, I've spent hours upon hours researching this field over the past two years. But I'm sure I haven't been able to do it until now because I haven't really been ready. But now I know I am. Okay, so the question I'm asking here is, does anyone know any specific things I can do to aid my attempts of getting out? Or has anyone actually gotten out, and do you know of something I might be able to do to help people after I am out? I'm not really expecting to get a response on the second one, so yeah. Any tips that I might not have seen before?

Hmm, meditation is always good, if you can project from meditation you're really doing well. Otherwise I'd suggest a WILD(wake induced lucid dream) and then phasing of some sort. Basically, set your alarm for 4 or 5 hours after you fall asleep, wake up maybe use the bathroom, do what ya gotta do. Then go back to bed, relax, and hopefully you can either relax quickly and deeply enough to project or be aware enough to have a lucid dream, from there you could do a number of techniques. Phasing seems to be the popular one, another one I've done is simply fall backwards. It takes you right back to the void, then you just have to let the projection happen.

As for helping other, I've heard of people going and helping people who have passed away ease their transition. Some may not even know they're deceased, so thats a possibility. Besides that you could always just do what feels right, maybe learn some things, expand your consciousness, with that comes a new found love for everyone, and you'll find yourself going out of your way for people more in the physical, and just being happier in general.

All you really need to do is set your intention. If before bed you can decide to have an obe then you'll have one during the night. But it's more than just saying in your mind that you're going to have one. You have to know it's going to happen. And I dont mean just convince yourself that it's def going to happen. It's hard to explain but it's like when you truly make a decision the thing has sort of already happened in the future and you just know.

For me, no matter what the method, the most important part of the projection proccess is setting your intention. The hardest part for me is finding the motivation. I'm not a very motivated person. But when I can summon the will to set my intention and I know, it always happens.

 Forget getting out of your body and try getting inside your head. The noticing technique works really good. First you start with some relaxation, then just notice the darkness in front of your eyes. Let everything else go and get into yourself, not out of yourself. I find it quite easy when I just let it happen. I also use Binaural/Brainwave Beats, that tends to help me lose focus on the outside and move towards the in.

I completely agree. The binaural beats are great way for moving into a trance like state. As you focus on the sounds it will distract from any stray thoughts. However, choose your practice times wisely. I quite often relax so much I fall asleep listening to them!  :lol:

I was in your boots myself until recently: messed about with meditation and trance states and all this lying down and trying to get our of your body for hours stuff made me very discouraged.

I would go to obe4u.com and get the free e-book and follow the directions for "indirect techniques" very carefully. You should get into the phase in a few weeks, any longer than that and you're not following the instructions correctly.

 The bottom line to this is BELIEVE! People keep going into this trying to do this or that, the real key is you put into your mind that you ARE going to do this and be successful. Just watch all the sensations as they pass by, KNOWING that you are achieving your goals. I apologize for all the shouting letters, but this is the truth. Don't dabble in this, go in with 100% confidence or don't even try it at all. That is harsh, but I keep hearing people here saying "I am trying to do this BUT so and so keeps happening". Ignore so and so and achieve your goal! It really is that easy.  :-)
I say this about the need to be serious because once you delve into this you will learn things that will change your perceptions about a lot of things in life. You will look at everything differently. You will also see that you won't talk about what you see because it will be personal to you. You very rarely see the people here with 3-5 stars talking about what they are seeing in the Astral. But, they will always help you in learning how to get there.
Here is an example of the power of the mind/suggestion. At the Minnesota State this year one of our female employees had the hiccups. I watched her for about 20 mins talking to the other workers about it and they were all giving her their solutions to get rid of them. None worked so she was still had them. I walked up to her and asked if I could help. She said yes, so I put my finger on her 3rd eye and told her to put her entire focus there. After 2 mins of this I tapped her forehead gently with my hand, her hiccups were gone. Everyone around was shocked even some of my customers that were watching this. I told them all that it was all in the power of focus. She was grateful. The end!  :-)
