I don't know if others are able to do this since I never notice anyone talking about the frequency they hear it at, it's one of the things I don't just ask people because I don't want them to think I'm weird or something. Maybe it's something everyone can do, I don't know, I'm just asking. I can hear my brainwaves though or well, that is the sense seemingly being used as they appear in f2. It is not like I just make them up in my imagination, more so that my subconscious allows me to experience their current frequency.

I'm not sure and I have limited time atm so I can't post a proper response, however in irc from talking with ishi I have come to find.

1) it is not Tinnitus as I can actually hear that, thus I can hear both at the exact same time. Tinnitus is a high pitched constantly ringing, while the brainwaves I "hear" are low pitched and can only be compared to how binural beats sound.

2. They can only be heard when it is very silent, in another room there was a fan on which was very soft but still it drowned out my ability to hear the waves. I also have to be silent, so, it's like I have to be silent in the silence to be able to hear them, however when I am they are instantaneous and no effort on my part, like Tinnitus.

3. They seem to come from the frontal area of the brain behind the third eye.

4. Their frequency does indeed change and become a lower tone upon deeper relaxation as less physical activity is taking place.

5. It is not a single occurrence, I have been hearing them for years when I am going to sleep and silent, they can be heard any time I want to try and hear them.
