What exactly would be the point of that? 

We already have the ability to shift our focus of awareness around to just about anywhere we wish... that's about as free as it gets.

I can relate to what you're saying.  If our bodies are indeed the product of the mind, as some would suggest, based on quantum physics--then there should be a way to completely shift our focus into another dimension completely without having to come back to this physical dimension.

But I guess the best way to find out is to experiment in the phase.  Oh well, it's nothing more than armchair conjecture at this point.  I really need to learn to master the phase and see for myself.

I can't even describe how depressing it is when people do this to quantum theory. Please read a book, written by a scientist who actually knows what quantum theory is. Stephen Hawking's "The Grand Design" is very short and written for the layman, a great explanation.

Let me put it to you this way.  My goal, regarding astral projection, is to know as much as I can of the state itself--and to be able to do that, I feel, (theory) based on its thought-responsive nature, I have to adapt the mind of a child(don't have any assumptions/believe nothing is impossible) in order to fully understand it.  Keep in mind that I won't believe or disbelieve anything unless there's undeniable proof.  So some physicists believe, according to their "theories", that our bodies are the product of the mind.  At this point I'm not sure if there's any veracity to this--so, I'm going to experiment in the Astral to see if this is possible at all. Now this might sound deluded to some, but I have an inquisitive mind and I like to push the envelope.  I'm all about turning experience into knowledge so if this depresses you, well that's too bad.
