if you look directly in a lightbulb and cover your eyes you will see like little energy balls or something in the blackness.... focus on that and watch it... follow it until it is real vivid... it will lead you into focus 2... I have tried and it has brought me further  into the blackness but I got excited and just said forget it...

someone else do it and tell me if it works... just use your hands to hold your eyelids down also

I'm not sure I get what you mean.  I should look at the light and then close my eyes and look at the after image or something that appears??  That will take me to Focus 2?

yea.. look at the little ball thingys....

no it won't work, unless you are in a trance to do true phasing.

Have you tried it? or were you so stuck to the belief that that was the only way that you tried for a few seconds and shunned it?

That's a good point. I'll try this (and try to be open about it) and let you know what I find ...

if it fades for a few seconds pay attention because it will come back... it fades when the physical eyes try to look....

I think it could work... for me at least, afterimages and hypnogogic images look a lot alike.  If nothing else, "watching" the afterimages could help you trance out.  I'll try your method.

Sometimes, I can jump-start imagery by squeezing my eyes really tight, or rubbing them with my hands... it creates these pretty bursts of colors and/or patterns.

I don't know if this type of thing is really good for one's eyes though...

i do those but aside from this thread.. if you have trouble keeping your eyes close i suggest a blindfold

NickJW

yes I have tried this and i have got quite vivid imagery, but it is nothing like actually phasing through a trance.

Last night I phased into a dimly lit hotel room and stared at a lamp above the bed for about 10 seconds, and when I phased back to my body I could see an after-image of the lamp still in my mind, just like when I look into a real lamp. It's these unexpected things that always trip me out.
