During study hall today I decided to try my projecting since I was bored. It's not as quiet as I would have liked but... Anyway, I started by closing my eyes and then relaxing. I started to get the normal vibes and then something new to me happened. I felt like I was a prisoner in my own body. I could see all black and I could look around a full 360 degrees. This startled me. Then, whenever I thought of an image, I would start seeing that appear in a sort of dream, but still with the blackness. What could this be?

Well, actually there's the 360-vision in there, which is a neat side-effect of not being limited to your physical ... the trapped-in-your-body feeling could be several things: sleep paralysis; the reality of your belief that you must be trapped in your body; possibly a lack of etheric energy (for those who go with the theory that energy/chi is needed for projections); or, you may have been aware seeing hynpogogic imagery.

My guess is, you were in Monroe's Focus 12. If you don't know anything about Monroe's consciousness road-map, that's okay, because it's just a road-map with focuses for milestones - just a model. It's the equivalent of a deep trance, with astral overlays.

Seeing as you did this in a study hall, and you can call the vibrations "the normal vibes", I'd say you're doing very well.
A certain degree of neurosis is of inestimable value as a drive, especially to a psychologist - Sigmund Freud
